His career earning are 57m. He'll get by on name brand ramen noodlesI'll never knock a guy betting on himself but Zadina did this last year and it blew up spectacularly.
He was making 4.5 million next year. There's no way (even if he's good) he'll get close to that. He cost himself millions to stay in the NHL. I respect it but if it was me, call me Mrs. Frizzle because I'm riding the AHL bus.
I don't follow the Blues, so am a bit ignorant of the situation, but his stats aren't at the very bottom of the barrel. Is this a matter that he is currently way overpaid for his performance/lack thereof and burying him in the minors would get rid of the larger cap hit for the team so they can sign other players? They owe him the money, and if they can't use him they'd have to put him somewhere but not cost the team the cap hit. Is this more or less what is leading to him wanting to mutually terminate the contract?
I'm guessing that his agent has already found him a team that wants him, but didn't want him at his current cap hit. Career longevity is likely the biggest reason here, if he cleared waivers, he's probably in the minors for the rest of his contract, and he likely wouldn't get another NHL deal. It's hard to prove that you're an NHL'er if your team keeps you riding the bus for a year and a half. Why give up so much money?
Such a weird thing to latch on to. OP in the thread your referencing admitted they had misunderstood McMann’s value and immediately changed their proposal. Enjoy the laugh I guess.I'm still laughing over the trade proposal some homer in St. Louis made in December -- Saad at 50% and Toropchenko for a 1st and Bobby McMann. @StlBigFly
How about no Toropchenko, no 1st and no McMann?
Saad for about $10,000 that doesn't count against the cap?
Still no takers?
How about just terminating his lousy contract altogether? Aaah -- that works, now!
Keep your 1st and keep your player. He'll be a free agent soon enough
Careful. Watch Dubas somehow give him more than he was making before the buyout.Come home to Pittsburgh. Rakell and Rust should be leaving soon.

When you have never been alive to see your team win a Cup, you gotta cling to every small victory you can. Mainly trade proposals made on HFboards.Such a weird thing to latch on to. To avoid playing in the AHL while he's still young enough to hack it in the NHL. No amount of money you can pay to turn back timeWhy give up so much money?
