If that’s the case, I’d rather have him than Reaves and pay him league minimum if he makes the team. We don’t need a dedicated face puncher who does little else.

I'm hoping he earns a contract in Pre-season and pushes Kampf to be traded. His 2.4M is too much for a 4th line center.

Just like how Noah Gregor pushed out Lafferty last season

Fills a sweater for preseason. He wouldn't push anyone out of a spot except maybe Reaves, and Reaves is going to only play like half the time anyway when coaching wants a fighter in the game.

He probably knows that a PTO with the Leafs gets more eyes on him than most other teams. So he'll try to make his preseason games count to land with another team.

This is an odd PTO to sign simply because they already have a 4C.

He rarely PK’d for the panthers. He was a regular on the PK for the sharks two years ago.

Given our lack of forwards who PK, he would probably PK here if he made the team.

Good size, hits, physical, wins about 50% of his faceoffs, and can PK. I remember when he was a prospect with the Canes and he was considered a better prospect than Geekie. IF he makes the team it's probably because Kampf is moved up to the 3c spot moving Holberg to the wing and Cowan is going back to Junior. 4th line of Dewar, Lorenz and Reeves/Jarnkok would be a decent 4th line.
