Biggest pet peeve about modern hockey. Every big hit, even if it’s clean, results in a guy getting jumped. It’s a contact sport, hitting is legal.
Everyone says that until one of their guys gets hit and they start screaming why a guy like Ras is just standing there not responding

honest opinion if shoe was on other foot i think it should b no goal. fleury couldnt position bc player was in blue pant.

Why though? DeBrincat did go into the crease on his own which is dicey, but there wasn't any contact on a bang bang play. I'd have a hard time believing he prevented Fleury from establishing position.

(and I say this as someone who thought Larkins goal probably shouldn't have counted)

not sure on rule book but Imo goalie should have crease space to be able to position to make saves.

if i was a goalie i would have been right where dbc was was standing. fleury could have sold it better by making contact with dbc.

I default to the goalie's body language. MAF was mad he got beat, not that he got bumped. Wild coaches should have conferred with Fleury rather than rolling the die.

Nah. Hockey is a tough sport. Take a number and get the guy back. All this crap after hard hits discourages hitting more than anything the DoPS does.

And a hard hit separates a guy from the puck and gives you an advantage. The scrums take away that advantage. Anyone fighting the guy who threw the check should always get 2, 5 and 10.

That's his ice to take if he needs it. If he's not trying to take that ice, we'll all assume he didn't need it.

Agreed I think if Fleury sold it by making contact then they'd have a strong case (like he just did with the flop on the Ras penalty).

Price used to be the master of that. He'd slide across the crease even away from where the shot is coming, but he'd make contact with a player in the blue and they'd call goaltender interference. It was maddening.

If I took a drink every time Ras has had a great scoring chance this game I'd currently be following the game on my phone in the emergency room.
