I'd love nothing more than to wipe that mis-used word from the general lexicon.

Otherwise, garbage take not worth quoting.

Take it easy. It was meant as a lighthearted comment about a situation that is clearly uncomfortable.

Watch the last two minutes of the press conference, specifically from the moment Staios is handed a Sens Jersey, and you'll see two people in symbiosis while a third one is desperately trying to fit in. That's the gist of it. It was a bad joke.

Pierre has always been socially impaired. He's just kind of an awkward, not self-aware person, regardless of the context. Painful watching his head spin around in a half-Linda Blair, grinning like a weirdo and looking for approval from the other two after his comments on Pinto. But I think it's 90% status quo Pierre, and 10% nerves fitting into the new dynamic.

I got that vibe as well and a sesame street song immediately came to mind. The initial Andlauer presser was even more evident how he stuck out as someone trying too hard to fit in.

As the sale process dragged on, fewer and fewer people thought Dorion would be replaced for this season, it was discussed all offseason, it's pretty rich indeed that you're ignoring that and pretending that this is all of the sudden.

So your saying that people didn't maintain that Dorion was out as soon as Staios was in? gotcha...

I'm sure everyone predicted that Dorion would be on the center stage with Andlauer every step of the way at the press conferences, and that he would get his endorsement multiple times.

We all saw this coming no doubt by anyone whatsoever, Andlauer is just biding his time and waiting for the right moment to drop the hammer, and Dorion simply got saved by the bell!! That slippery old rascal.

Lol, folks. If you really believe that still.

Irrespective of his eventual fate as GM, we're better off with others being able to be the voice and face of the franchise. Better for Pierre as well as those are very clearly not his strengths.

Yes and thats why a lot of fans don't like him, he's awkwardness when talking to the media rub some fans the wrong way, listen do I wish that Pierre was better at talking to the media yes, but he's main job is managing the roster and putting a good team in the ice and he did that!

"Everyone from the "core" may not be here next year". What do you mean by "core"? "Everyone"?

I think you are over-stating expectations.

The word "core" has been used mostly to refer to the top 6 or 7 players on the roster. Is that what you mean?
Maybe it should have said "Not everyone from the core ....."

I like Andlauer's approach so far. Back Dorion in his current role, but emphasise accountability. Just from a human being persepctive I don't think I'd want a guy to rocket into the organization and unceremoniously dispose of a guy who has held the job for many years and done some things well. That's not a tone you want to set. Pierre has a chance to continue to earn his job where the standard has been set as best in class. That's a mighty hill to be climbed for sure, but I think it's right that he's getting the chance to try.

Agreed 100%. And not to rub it in some folks' faces, but that's the difference. There are no Dorion "lovers" out there. Just some people that objectively think he's earned the chance to keep his job....

That's it. He earned that chance though. Like it or not.

Well it's not the WWE. Anyone thinking that Andlauer was gonna run in like Stone Cold Steve Austin and give Dorion the stunner right after he fires him wasn't thinking realistically. This was always going to go this way where they come in like professionals, put some people in place and get the business side where you want it, get the lay of the land on the hockey ops side, and then decide what they want to do. This season is evaluation time.

Except for those who wanted Dorion fired on day 1. This is not good news for them.

Even most of them acknowledged that given the timing of the sale, it was likely that Dorion's job would be safe for a while, and changes would have to occur either next offseason or midseason if things went really off the tracks.
^ Yep, agreed. But its hard to throw those "hater" labels out there if you don't exaggerate or present the extreme point of view.

When the sale ended up taking longer, the vast majority were saying a change wouldn't happen until American Thanksgiving or December.

Yes. I'm referring to Tkachuk, Stützle, Sanderson, Chabot, Norris, Batherson and Chychrun.

Those are all Dorion's guys. Staios may really like some, but not others.
For me, Batherson is the weak link in the core forwards group. Pinto could easily replace him. Just as productive, more responsible defensively. Norris could be an issue if he's injury prone. 2nd surgery and he tweaked it recently, not looking good. Chabot needs to return to the player he was in juniors. He's picked up a lot of bad habits since then. I hope Chychrun loves it hear and remains healthy. I would expect him to re-sign here considering what he went through in Arizona.

Hold up… there’s a Sesame Street song about being a cuckolded? It must be one of the older songs.

this is the exact approach many of us suspected was going to happen, once Andlauer was named the new owner a few Month ago.

when responding to those who posted takes like “first move has to be getting rid of PD on day one, or he will be an idiot if he doesn’t “…. People were accused of being a PD boot licker, or whatever…. It was laughable.

PD now has no excuses left, he will be held accountable, and if the team fails to get off to a good start, he only has one card to play, and that is the fire the coach card…. and he knows 100% that after playing that card he is the next one to go should the team not make the the playoffs.

If this were the case, then Staios would clearly be overstepping his bounds and this would make him a bad POHO.

Good bosses don't micromanage like this. A good boss is there to support and can help put up guard rails and/or provide an extra perspective.
So, are you're back at Staios "rubber stamping" every move again with Dorion running the show on the hockey/on-ice side never making a mistake? Hard to tell as successive posts seem to say the opposite thing.

Now I think we need one more AGM, a cap and contract guy to go with the GM of Belleville/player development guy (Bowness).
