Rumor: Steve "Dangle" : Wheeler out of Winnipeg, will probably get bought out

I can only imagine the lot of you frothing at the mouth, scrambling to post a chirp at Steve Dangle hoping for a bunch of likes.

He worked for Sportsnet, and works and is good friends with Chris Johnston. He's no insider but to rule out that someone tossed him a bone is a little silly guys.

Steve Dangle doesn't get tossed bones from the Jets. He's just repeating what others have speculated. Not saying he's wrong, but he has zero connections to the Jets. Doesn't matter who he's friends with or who he worked for, it's about the source of the info.

Dreger is the guy to look for with regards to getting fed info from the Jets, and he's made enough comments already to get an idea of where this is heading.

There is no baggage. He's a strong personality that expects a lot of himself and others. Every locker room has guys like that. This notion he is some Svengali is ridiculous.
Then why does Winnipeg management want him out at any cost (including buyout)?

Yeah, he works his ass off and sets a good example imo. The problem is the C they put on him. If he'd never had it, I think it would be fine to let him finish off his contract. Or if we had named a new captain last year, he might have been able to take a step back and just play hockey. But it seemed like with a handful of A's, nobody claimed the team for their own and he just sort of filled in by default.

The one thing I'm certain of is that the fans of his new team are going to be obnoxious about how dumb we were to get rid of him.

"At any cost" is likely a bit harsh, but I think the Jets are moving in a different direction and he is the longest serving Jet along with the highest paid Jet.

Personally, I like Blake and if he was at a $3 million salary, I'd keep him. He's just overpaid relative to his abilities. He's likely to still be a point producer for his next team IMO.

Lol when did Steve Dangle become an "insider?

When dipshits quote him as one. "Oh, I saw Steve's Dang-Its! He clearly must know what he's talking about!"

Twitter has done great things with expediting the share of information, but it just lends itself to fake shit and unqualified people saying shit and then idiots run with the unqualified person because they've seen a video or two that they've done.

I think we all knew it would come to this...............even at half salary no one wants Wheeler.....
Wat the hell happened in Winnipeg? Buff retires cuz he didn't want to play anymore, Maurice leaves money on the table to get out of there??

Guess it was not Evander Kane's fault eh..........
I mean, isn't Buff like 400 pounds now? That's not on anyone but him.

Sorry for triple post, but his "baggage" is that he's a long f***in way into his career and he's getting paid a lot of money and not performing at the level justified by that contract. Winnipeg would want him moved because they don't see him in the current or future plans and they want to re-allocate the money from Wheeler to other pieces and the playing time from Wheeler to other pieces. He's got enough cache that he doesn't have to/won't accept a demotion, so they're trying to do right by former captain and leading scorer in Atlanta-Peg scoring history.
