Injury Report: Stepan Broken Jaw. No timeline. Prust susp. 2 games

Is that official? I haven't heard anything about Brass coming back but was surprised he didn't play last night.

If you look at the scratches on the box score there is still 8 Pack players with the team. Kristo, Bourque, and Lindberg are the forwards still around.
 
If im not mistaken,the most Prust can get since its over the phone,is 5 games,correct?

Not official but i would be very surprised if he isnt back. These last 2 games have probably been more caution. We dont even know if stepan is definetly out
 
Can we play jt miller at center for once? We had 2 centers get hurt. We need a center don't put boyle at center(a position he isn't best at) and miller on his wing(a position he isn't best at)

just because it's on the phone? what type of dumb rule is that? 5 games however seems like a good suspension length. he should definitely be out of the series. it did sound like the jaw had a hair line fracture since the first x-ray didn't catch it so hopefully Stepan will be back real soon. I'm sure the Rangers will wait for the suspension call before they announce the results. If they say Step is back right away, the NHL office might be tempted to reduce the games. But this is Prust, he's 4th line fodder and the NHL never hesitates to make an example out of those type of players.

Yes, they assessed the situation enough before they scheduled the hearing to decide it would be 5 games maximum. Otherwise the hearing would be in person.
 
I'd be surprised if it wasn't JT called up to play center on a scoring line. We'll need to baby his minutes and we'll probably need to give the fourth line more time than we usually do, but that would be the case with any other replacement. I'm not a ~prospects~ guy but he's a better NHL player than his point total says he is.
 
Id go with Miller if he wasnt able to play. Then stick miller on the 4th line.

Pouliot - Brassgod - MZA
Hagelin - Richards - MSL
Miller - Boyle - Dorsett

I really didn't think that was a slew foot.

I personally don't care about any of the chincy stuff. Prust's hit should have been a penalty. It not being called echoed through the game and will continue to echo through the series. That's a horrible call. Everything else is the playoffs.
 
These nhl players need to start going up with their stick so when u try to hit high u throw urself into a cross check to the face

Funny that Kerry Fraser at TSN called it a slew foot and said that that should have absolutely been called. He didn't go so far as to call the officiating last night horrible but he also stressed that Prust absolutely should have gotten 5 minutes and a game misconduct for his hit--and that the lack of calls on these plays led to the rest of the stuff that followed. He more than less said that the referees let the game get out of hand--which is pretty damning from an ex-referee at TSN--Canada's version of ESPN.
 
Why still no news? Hearing was 57 minutes ago. Hopefully they are filming one of those dumb videos explaining why he got a lifetime ban.

I thought Subban should have got called for pretending he was too injured to be on the ice for an icing, then comes out his next shift totally healthy. Thats just making a mockery of the icing rules

Not disagreeing with you,but in fairness to Stepan,he never saw the hit coming.Could not defend himself as it was a cheap blindside hit.Impossible to defend against those types of hits
