Great win but the play of Matthews needs a big wake up call. Only guy on the ice that I can see who had vacation plans made. Everyone else was engaged and playing with some passion. Matthews had a few shots a few blocks but still scoreless in 4 games. Just unacceptable

His shot is like 1/4th as dangerous in his first couple of seasons.

He's going through a rough patch right now, but Matthews has the most physical talent in my opinion.
I used to think that but Nylander is a better skater, puck handler and their shots are about even since Matthews shot is not what it used to be. To me Matthews is a more complete 200 foot player but less dangerous offensively now.

much better defensively. i think woll was always better than samsonov, but I understood why sammy was played over him (e.g. small sample size for woll).
only scoring 2 goals again for the 6th straight game is concerning.
and steve dangle is right. it's an amateur league with professional players. nothing will happen to bennet/tkachuk with their stupid antics (maybe a fine at most)
Amateur league with professional players. Apt description.

Lazy take imo.

I’m not singling you out, but most fans have no clue what is actually going on.

He doesn't have to fight him. Refs had them both grabbed. Give him a taste of his own medicine and punch him in the face a couple times with your glove on. Don't just sit there and smile and take it after the games over because nobody is going to the box anyways.
Punching him in the face is kind of the definition of fighting

Defend like that and get that level of goaltending life becomes far more difficult for the Panthers

We've played into there hands way to often
Florida mostly gets goals off the rush and via massive cherrypicking (hello Duclair!). It's a lot like Montreal; hopefully they've figured out how to stop a team that plays like that.

Great win in a game where there wasn’t much room and their goalie was really solid.

now home for a legitimately exciting Friday night game

Referees played that post game scrum horribly

Florida had 6 guys on the ice with the goalie pulled, and jumped the Leafs. Obviously Joseph Woll isn't going to grab a player, nor do the Leafs want him to - knowing Florida that player will start throwing punches at Woll

So it's now 6 v 5 skaters. The referee should have at least grabbed a Florida skater to even it up but did nothing until punches were thrown

I honestly don’t know that I will
The late push to fail just obscures the inevitable.
I just don’t want them the hold onto Matthews/nylander as own rentals
Ughhhh I hate that term. You understand that they're not trading either unless it's for a real legit hockey deal right?
And I'm not sure there is anything out there in the Matthews category.
