I'm back. Thanks Statsy for taking care of my picks via SMS, its been a pretty smooth flowing process so far. Now that I'm actually sitting at my desk with the list in front of me, I'm happy to announce the signing of Mr Nick Merkley who I get to see often play against my Vancouver Giants in the WHL. This kid has one-speed (fast) and reminds me of Brendan Gallagher. I'm excited to select him to be on Team Tomsburninghat.

I was going to wait till the end to pick a goalie, since no team really has designated starter and will all be spliting games.... But I have a good feeling about this one....

Ill pick Goalie Veini Vehvilainen from Team Finland

I don't mind it... but if they could find and agreed to better solution which means to stay with current players or simply switch them, then it would be the best for everyone.

I was planning on taking Soderstrom with my 5th round pick(as evidenced by my post earlier when he was taken), so I don't think switching them makes sense and Huffman gets him when I had 2 picks in the meantime that I would have taken him with either had he been available.

Then you could give tom Sandstrom, me Soderstrom and keep everything else the same but then A.Nylander is available to Statsy, and if he passed then I would have taken him with my 6th rounder, and then Fleury is available to everyone picking after.

So it really doesn't make any sense to do any kind of straight swap. But with a redo then people will know who others will take so that's not a great option either.

In my Mind a straight swap if agreed upon would be better, that way no one else loses who they picked, and it doesnt effect 10+ picks and everyone has who they wanted.

In the reality of things, Sweden is one of the teams where the goalies are going to go game for game until the medal rounds, both goalies hold roughly the same value in my opinion.

If not agreed to swap, just gonna have to leave as is I would say.

Yes, this is how I see it too.

I really don't think that's fair to me. I almost picked Soderstrom with my 4th round pick and decided to take the risk he'd still be there for my 5th rounder but I was absolutely going to pick him then. Switching it so Huffman gets him with his 7th rounder when I would have taken him with my 5th rounder had he been available(which he should have been) is absolutely not fair at all to me.

I'm not completely sold on my Sandström pick. Sandström and Söderström hold the same value to me so I wouldn't mind switching. There is also another goalie I think is equally good, who is still available.

I value Soderstrom over Sandstrom because I expect Soderstrom to get the playoff games(because I think he'll be better) even if they do go 2 and 2 for the group stage, and I think Sweden will be in the GMG so so that's possibly 4 or 5 wins.

My two cents...In reality I took Sandstrom because I read that he was going to be the leading goaltender. Who really knows though? For the record, I will take whoever I end up with. I plan to beat all of you with my skaters so its going to be moot. After reading a few of your comments, I'm thinking the best plan is to leave things the way they are even though I'm not getting the goalie I originally wanted but isn't that my fault for not correcting Statsy's mistake? I've been swamped with work and trying to juggle these picks and everything seemed ok when it happened. If Huffman wants Sandstrom he can have him and if he ends up being the #1 I won't have hard feelings. To be honest, I love the pool for the research I gain for my NHL keeper league and the bragging rights. Does this help matters any?

You could redo the draft in a manner that you get to keep the guy you want to keep him.(except Huffman and Sandstrom)

For instance tom gets Sandstrom, with his 5th rounder Huffman can then pick Soderstrom(the guy made available) or keep his guy, assuming he keeps Boeser, then I can have Soderstrom or A.Nylander, then Statsy can have Hicketts or A.Nylander(once I let him go), etc, etc, etc.

That way you can't steal a guy that you initially passed on with your pick, so if you're happy with your pick you get to keep it because everyone in front of you already had passed on them so they can't take said player now

so 1 player would be made available at each pick(it's Soderstrom initially), person making said pick has to choose between the guy they had or the guy made available, if they keep the guy the had the available guy moves to the next pick to choose, if they switch, then the guy they took becomes available for everyone after.

I'm pretty sure it would end up exactly the same as it would have went.

If I explained it correctly, it makes sense in my head.
