All depends if he can get some chemistry going between Ehlers and Laine. Stastny is a good player but so is Little. We may have to split them up yet.

But that said, we just upgraded Matt Hendricks to a bona fide 2nd line center I will allow myself to be happy! Two way player that can PK and take faceoffs.. Nice.

I know i am running against the euphoria here but I am not a big fan of this deal. Maybe it will grow on me. What we really needed was D depth for fragile Toby.

I don't see Stastny signing with us this off season and so I dont like giving up our 1st rounder. Foley, I don't know much about. And the late rounder in 2020, who cares.

It's great to have center depth. The only way I see this paying off/being worth the cost is if Stastny can somehow decode the 'god only knows what they hell they are doing out there' play of Ehlers and Laine, and getting us to the finals. But if Little couldn't figure those guys out, I'm not sure how Statsny will.

But now that he is ours, you bet I'll be cheering my ass off for him.

This sure developed quickly since the Blues weren't even selling until yesterday after the Preds beat them...

I'm not sure I like it that much honestly. Pure rental. I like Foley and we gave up our first rounder in 2018. I don't know man. I hope I'm wrong about it.

Stastny is a playmaker. Laine needs a guy like that.

I don't know what some of you guys are smoking! lol...we're one of the top teams in the league! We are a real contender this year...you don't pass that up to "continue building" especially when the cupboards are pretty full already. We might not even make the playoffs next year!

Yup... you can build forever and never finish your house.

If you think you have a legit shot at going the distance, you have to go for it, even if it means giving up some future assets. Because that chance may never come again.

Stastny imo is a much better fit for either Ehlers and Laine or both. His game will mesh really well and this gives the Jets SO much flexibility up front.

Trouba skating, Lowry skating, 2C add, hey things are pointing in the right direction.

Plenty of time for revisionist history after the playoffs are over.

But for now...Chevy went for it

Stastny>>>>>>than Hendricks. And even if Lowry can't stay healthy it won't be the end of the world

I agree, I'm afraid. 1st-rounder in a deep draft, and Foley, who's Lemiux Plus and likely to be a very good NHL winger. Happy to be convinced otherwise though.

Wow great deal. Stacked 4 lines deep. This is going to be huge. No roster players gone

Foley was a good prospect but its nice to draft guys later like this and be able to move them

We may not have been able to sign Foley out of college as well

Good trade..but I dont think the Jets are in position to win it all this year. Not a lot of playoff experience on this team...next year the Jets would be better suited to go all in. Hopefully Chevy is able to pull off a similar trade next year as well.

Laine Stastny Ehlers is the best 2nd line in NHL

We need to hear more from the "Objective Poster"-- a man who tells it like it is-- but I disagree with you here. Buff has won the Stanley Cup with Chicago, and Wheeler, Little, Stastny, and Scheif have also been thru playoff runs. Also Hendricks was valuable to the Oiler's deep run last year.(lots of experience)

Maurice has also coached a team to the Cup final--so we should be very close to being able to go all the way !!!

I've generally actually been pretty bang on with my predictions and opinions.

I'm expressing a concern over loading up ... I don't like trade deadline buying and never have.

I've always thought if you can get away with adding a big piece for futures that aren't massive difference makers then you are alright. Especially because you never know what can happen. We can be huge contenders next year and lose 10 guys to injuries and miss the playoffs. Gotta take advantage of a PO spot when you are there.
