Ok, but I wonder who voted for him since he got zero buzz that I heard, and the Selke is probably the most reputation-based award of the lot.

I didn’t really notice his defensive play in the regular season but it’s been very noticeable in the playoffs. Same with the physicality.

The analytics crowd loves Robo for the Selke. It’s such a reputation award that seems to take several seasons for voters to notice. Now with Patrice gone, Barkov will probably win every other year. Hintz is now getting noticed and hopefully Robo will be a finalist next year if more analytics folks push his name out there.











Stars in the offseason should pump his tires to media about his defensive game since Selke is such a reputation award. Hintz, Robo, and Wyatt should all be top 20 in voting for years to come.

The problem is he's elite in the neutral zone, which many fans/observers/media don't even really watch or pay attention to, much less understand. And he doesn't kill penalties, nor should he.

Sounds like a terrible idea. His next contract is already gonna be ridiculous, with a Selke to his name he's gonna cost a fortune.

Also as a side note, Matthews getting nominated for the Selke is such a f***in joke.
