In addition to the front office loving him, another reason Suter probably isn’t getting bought out is the Stars will already go into next season with $2.6 million of dead cap money because of performance bonuses being paid to Pavelski, Stankoven, Lundkvist, and Harley. This is the downside of using LTIR to go over the cap because it punts those performance bonus cap hits to the next season.
Pavelski’s contract was purposely structured this way to allow them to spread his cap hit over two seasons. Vegas isn’t the only team doing funny cap math under the rules.
While the cap will go up $4 million next season, the Stars will already have consumed over half of it paying for this season’s roster. Buying Suter out would add another $783k in dead cap money.
FYI, their bonus carryover penalty going into this season was only $372k.
People stopped complaining when the Stars won pretty much every game in March and April. But just wait....I don't think people really care about buying out Suter anymore now that he's playing in his correct role
Did this post come right before the third period started in the Jets game?Maybe we can have PDB coach the team during the regular season and then bring back Bones (if he gets fired) to coach the team in the playoffs?
Nope, game was 5-2 and Jets fans were calling for his firing. It was obviously a jokeDid this post come right before the third period started in the Jets game?
I just wasn't sure which way the joke was going. If the Jets were winning, it's still solid comedy.Nope, game was 5-2 and Jets fans were calling for his firing. It was obviously a joke
Hopefully they’ll still have an app for the people who don’t use DirecTV
$20/mo for that app is robbery.Hopefully they’ll still have an app for the people who don’t use DirecTV
Everyone wants him to win a cup and loves him. We just prefer he doesn’t play much, especially on the power play.Listen I know Pavs has had a rough playoffs but I still want him to lift a Cup with us before retiring.
DIFH, WDI
The leadership group in that room will not let Pavs be a healthy scratch. He’s a major motivating factor for them. I think Pete knows that.
That breakaway he botched in game 2 was so sad.But why is he playing so much? He is being put out there in key situations against fast players and constantly f***ing up. He hasn't even been able to make simple, basic plays either.. like to win a key faceoff, clear the puck out of the zone, make a proper high flip.. super simple basic tasks that he is usually good at have been off. It's not just a 1-2 game thing either...
*Edit, I just looked it up. 36% on the faceoff dot in the playoffs. This guy has been 50-60% since coming to Dallas. Something is completely off. And the best part? His minutes have GONE UP since the regular season.
Unreal.
