Totally disagree, I can’t see the Hawks retaining on Jones for that long unless the acquiring team is significantly overpaying. As I suggested in my proposal, I could see them taking a cap dump back (Dumba or Ceci) but that’s it.

In light of Ben Pope’s reporting yesterday that Jones is talking with the Hawks about trades and “wanting to give himself a chance to win”, I have had a change in opinion on the Hawks willingness to retain on his contract. I think this would make the Hawks more willing to retain because it I may be more important to move Jones out before his desire to leave negatively impacts the rest of the team.

I still think trading Jones will result in a significant return (1st and a decent prospect) with the Hawks also taking a contract back for cap construction reasons.

This is the year Dallas should go all in because next year will be tricky with multiple guys needing raise's and they have a great team, especially once they add another top 4 D
