The latest Starfield trailers and game play showcases look promising. Sounds like there will be semi-random missions available on explorable planets.

So much for "1st half of 2023." At least this gives me more time to play some other games first.
Will still be full of bugs on release.Sept 6th, 2023

Maybe for you, but Jedi: Fallen Order is going to be a pretty big release, and for Switch Owners, Tears of the Kingdom is probably the biggest release the system has seen in years and Final Fantasy 16 in June. That's unfortunate, I was hoping to play this game over the summer and now it comes out a week after the release of Baldur's Gate 3. The first half of 2023 is now looking quite barren outside of Hogwarts and RE4.

So they're definitely going to take their time to iron out the bugs and glitches. Now with more manpower to it from MS, this might not be so buggy as I hear Bethesda's recent efforts were.
Fallout 76 struggled to hit 60 FPS on PC at launch. No idea if that changed since then. The engine Bethesda uses is over 20 years old and incredibly outdated. It's simply not optimized for modern hardware. My 4 year old daughter came to me in tears asking why this game is locked to 30 fps on consoles. "Not having 60 fps in 2023?!?!" she sobbed. Thanks Bethesda.
There isn't gonna be a 60 fps mode on console, and all the gameplay trailers they showed (which I assume would be running on PC) have been below 30.Several times, I checked the video resolution options to see if there was a 60fps option that I was missing because the gameplay didn't appear very smooth. I'm guessing that they haven't really optimized it yet. I wonder if they're going to make it or if this will be yet another 2023 game with a lot of optimization issues at launch. Even optimized, I'm not sure if I'll be happy with how it runs on my PC. I'm tempted to upgrade my GPU for it, but I don't want to do that and then have the game be delayed.
I think the development was too far along on the old engine to change to Unreal Engine 5? Star Trek Online on consoles is still using the same 13 year old engine which makes all the ground things look really crap, like crap even for Xbox 360 era, but because all the space battles look good and it's still getting new content every year, people are still playing. Based on what I saw in the Starfield Direct, this game has so many elements that don't rely on a fast frame rate, like everything re: ship, weapons, equipment etc. that if the frame rate on PC and Series X remains somewhat stable, people won't mind that it's 30 FPS.There isn't gonna be a 60 fps mode on console, and all the gameplay trailers they showed (which I assume would be running on PC) have been below 30.
This engine is just on its last legs (although everyone said that about fallout 4 too)
