Foligno would bring some physicality and truculence!
Regarding Giroux, I would play him with whomever works well with him. I would also like to see more offensive skill on the 3rd line so we can take advantage of other team's 3rd lines.

However, the lottery does not fully address active tanking. Its a bandaid.
Which Foligno ?

Nothing fully addresses tanking. Lottery in some form is the best solution.

I looked into Marcus Foligno who wouldn't be a bad pick up, but Minny can't afford to extend all their depth. I think someone like Sundqvist would be a good depth pick up for the 3rd line.

It’s impressive how Vegas can turn other teams castoffs like Chandler Stephenson into productive NHLers. Michael Amadio is almost a ppg in the playoffs! Who here saw that coming after his time with the Sens two years ago

I find Carolina remarkable. They take defenseman well known for being not great defensively like deangelo burns ghost and somehow no matter what are elite defensively every year. I know Staal slavin pesce are elite defensively but it seems to me if they can be this good while injured than the sens have the potential to be alot better with the talent on the roster.

Seems like once you have a defensive culture it's a lot easier to bring in assets for cheap than when you don't..

It's because they make their forwards actually play and care about D.

It's easier to play d when you have three forwards Infront of you also posturing as defenceman.

Unlike here where it's encouraged to cherry pick on the opposite blue line.

Carolina is going to be a tough matchup . They play fast, have an aggressive forecheck, they are also good at creating turn overs, and they have a very good D corps. Down 3 high end offensive players and the team is still good

I like New Jersey and their water bug fast break style. Once they got their feet under them that team speed really made NYR look old and slow. I am hoping for a bounce back from them the next game to make this a series. Home ice and Staal vs Hughes benefitted Carolina in game 1. Carolina's speed and their puck hounding play will be tough for NJ to overcome but they have to elevate from Game 1 to give themselves a chance.

New Jersey were favored to open the series I think that has changed.

I was hoping we'd keep Amadio.

Smart player with good size that put up excellent numbers at lower levels. Played with Paul in North Bay and was the better of the two.

Vegas' pro scouting is excellent. Unfortunately ours is not.

Knies and Boucher play the game very differently.

Obviously, Knies is the better player though.
Yes, Knies plays a skilled power forward game in a flanking top 6 role (what the Sens wanted with Boucher), Boucher hits.

"A strong power forward who can score", as we described the pick, fits Knies much more than Boucher. Knies looks like the player we hoped Boucher would be.

Boucher is a different player than we thought he'd be when we drafted him, because he isn't living up to what they drafted him to be

I hope we are the next coming of either of these teams.

I have a pre-season bet for Carolina to win the cup, so I have no choice but to cheer for them!

I don't think Knies is ever going to be much of a bruiser, like we expect Boucher to play, is all I was trying to point out.

Knies is pretty much a Josh Anderson clone.

The acquisitions the Leafs made were phenomenal. They've got three scoring lines now. Said that if they beat Tampa they'll go right through. Sure looks like it. Can't see them not making the finals.

Have you watched Carolina play?

Oh, agreed, that's why the idea of limiting the number of top picks over a period could be a complementary measure
I figure if a team is that bad to finish last several years in a row it deserves all the help it can get including the first overall pick. :)

And the Cats tie it early and go ahead just over a minute into P2
