In before the countless mentions in the post game of

''This is why Bob Murray is a GENIUS! He knew he needed to get better down the middle and take some of the pressure off Getzlaf, so what does he do? He goes out and gets Kesler! What a brilliant move this was!''

This phrase is almost robotic among analysts around the league. I swear I've heard this about 200 times this season and from about 80 different NHL personalities.

What they leave out though, is Kesler only wanted to go to Anaheim and left Vancouver like a baby.

Why is it so genius to acquire Kesler when he wants to only go to your team in the first place?:shakehead

By the way, is it just me or does the White Out look kind of dumb when the home team is wearing dark jerseys?

Meanwhile, how amazing does Calgary look decked out all in red?

The league should cut the **** with wearing the road jersey at home and switch it back to the way it used to be. It's pretty stupid that for 41 home games, fans see all the visiting teams wearing nothing but white jerseys.

I don't think the Jets will be back in the playoffs next season, I don't see Pavelec as a 920 goaltender like he was this year. I'm not gonna call a lottery pick, but I think they'll finish with as many points as Dallas and Colorado did this year.

And I do think at least one of Dallas or Colorado will be back in the playoffs this next year, Dallas could easily get in if Lehtonen bounces back to form. Will they be the second highest scoring team in the league again next year? That's the question.

And I did predict that both Dallas and Colorado would miss the playoffs this season. Some of the only correct preseason predictions I made this year.

And yet their fans are amazing after the loss.

Jesus, these Winnipeg fans are great. Wish they would have went further

Yes, their fans were very supportive. All cheering throughout the game and after. No booing their team. That was pretty classy. I just feel sorry for them. I can't imagine never having a playoff victory to remember. Blows my mind. :amazed:

Seeing the fans all decked out in yellow in Nashville or red in Calgary or even Orange in Philly is pretty great. I love the effect however, I would 110% support a move back to home whites.

I also love the look of the Devils white jerseys.

Yeah the Jets earned it - they had a 99-point season, they just aren't as good as the Ducks and the Ducks won every coinflip game. The real waste was in the East where AT LEAST two teams who didn't make it (Boston/Columbus) would have given the Rangers more of a fight than the Pens. Heck even the Flyers would have mucked it up and won a couple games like they did last year.

What a waste that The jets made it in over LA.

You got that right.

Winnipeg DID deserve to be in over LA (as did Calgary and Vancouver), but I think LA would have made the series more interesting than either of these two have been.

And Winnipeg/Anaheim did provide us with a couple pretty good games, or at least it did for me.

I just can't see LA going out in 4 or 5 games to the Flames or the Ducks.

Unless their scary bad offense from late in the regular season started to rear it's ugly head again. If their offense hadn't been so awful at the end there, maybe they would have made it in. They probably would have made it in over Calgary and not Winnipeg though. Winnipeg seemed to be locked into that wild card at the end there. An LA win over Calgary (and Edmonton in the game before) could have knocked out Calgary. Especially with how we saw Winnipeg stomp on Calgary in the season finale.

definitely makes for a better atmosphere with the dark jersey at home, the Rock looked amazing in 2012 during our run.

Already a ''They went out and got Kesler'' mention from Liam McHugh on the post game show.

He just forgot to pump up Murray and say how it was a genius move, close enough though.

It was as much of a genius move as Sather getting Nash and St. Louis were

ducks would of done this to the Kings. Only it would of been a tomb at Staples center instead of the loudness in Winnipeg.

I still think the Kings would have pulled it together to troll the Ducks again but I thought the Jets would troll the Ducks too  It is possible though, they were one game away from getting destroyed by the Sharks last year before the Sharks remembered who they were playing I suppose.

Arizona did the white out a few years ago during their WCF run. I actually didn't even realize what it was. I forgot about the last time the Jets were in the playoffs (the original Jets) and it looked so weird with the fans in white and the home team wearing red. Of course the last time the Jets played in the playoffs, the home team wore white.

LA couldnt even beat Edmonton when it mattered most

But if they did, I think they would have done something in the playoffs. Even if it was just win a game or two.

And I did say the night that they lost to Edmonton (with Michelle Bachmann or Rick Perry or whatever the goaltender was for Edmonton that night) that they did not deserve to get in if they couldn't beat that trash. The Kings should be sitting at home ashamed of themselves right now, after seeing this series.

Just like I said we didn't deserve to get in when we lost to them at home on a 4 game winning streak a couple months ago.

I think we all just underestimated the Ducks because of Santa.

Perhaps this was the year where the Kings finally just died in the playoffs (instead it happened before the playoffs), but I don't think it ends in a sweep.

I have to think it goes at least 6 and with overtime in multiple games.

The playoff inexperience of most of the Jets team probably even played a factor in the quick out.

Calgary has a huge lack of playoff inexperience, it hasn't gotten them down yet though.
