Stadium Series Jersey Discussion

I never realized how boring Levi's Stadium is. It doesn't even look permanent; it looks like a temporary location that's made of only scaffolding.

Nice! Would be my choice also.

Last season I got a Kopi Stadium jersey. The two skinny 1's looked odd, especially since they were stretched taller. I think "32" looks better (on this year's and last year's). At least I'm hoping it will in person.

It'll not only look good, the arm numbers will be visible from space.

.

yeah, our coliseum and rose bowl are way better.

(there are not enough :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: in existence to cover this)

Remember maybe 4 - 6 years ago the 49ers floated the idea of actually moving to L.A.? (they are the ONE team I would never want here) Now they have their new stadium. And Minnesota's is being built as I type this. Thank you Mark Ridley Thomas and the rest of the L.A. City Council.

I know everyone loves to hate this jersey because it's new and different (and, you know, the white pants), but I thought I would share some photos of a Premier jersey I just got.

Overall
I think it looks better in person than in the photos I've seen so far. You can see how the black stripe ends on the side, under the arm. Also the black stripe is smooth material, and not the normal jersey material as you can see. Everything else is what you'd expect. This jersey is a men's small, so you can see how big the numbers look (more on that later). I will be removing the size patch soon. I hate that thing.

Details
The crowns sort of feel like thin rubbery material, and the lines on the collar are actually stitches. The Stadium Series patch is embroidered as a patch and then just heat pressed on. The LA ligature is stitched onto the jersey, and the white and black parts are just part of the same piece of material (i.e. not separate layers).

Logo
The logo is all one piece of material with the graphics (sublimated?) onto it. Just like last year's crown. Instead of Chrome, it's supposed to be carbon fiber. The black outline is stitched onto the logo, but not through the jersey itself. The grey color has dots in it (like halftone or old comic dots), and the black part has a gradient carbon fiber look where the center looks lighter than the edges. The LA and the Crown are just plain graphics on that same piece of material.

Number/Name
Like the other parts the numbers are just one piece of material, made to look like layers. The silver part has the normal silver "glitter" on it. The stitching on the black is fake, but the stitching of the silver is real, and is stitched through the jersey for both the back and arm numbers. The arm numbers are each about 7"x3.25", and the back numbers are about 13"x6". The name is stiched onto the nameplate, and the nameplate onto the jersey...pretty standard there.

The design actually works with the stupid home plate logo, but the numbers are ridiculous. That ruins the jersey, IMO. If they went with standard numbers it might actually be doable.

Yeah, Thomas is to blame for this entire snafu. His cocky arrogance has cost this city an NFL team for at least 15 years. They could have landed someone right away, but the mother ****er insisted that the relocating team play in the ****ing Coliseum, and every owner told him to go pound sand.

Still, he didn't get it.

As you said, 49ers aren't coming (thank God for that), Vikings aren't coming, Seahawks aren't coming, and anyone else who used Los Angeles as a chip isn't coming. And no, Chargers are never leaving San Diego. That's pretty obvious.

**** the Raiders. Send them to San Antonio. Rams? Why not, keep them for 20 years then bounce them back to St. Louis or Cleveland or wherever the **** their next stop is. Jaguars? Don't make me puke.

The only way that LA is going to get a team is if a big chunk of the city boycotts. The NFL is dry humping us. Giving us just enough to keep us in line. The NFL knows that it bents more money by not having a team here and they keep ****ing with us.

The NFL is like that drug dealer in the ABC after school specials that gifts you the samples to get you hooked and then has you prostuting for the means of your next fix on Hollywood and Vine.

The jersey is not good, but not really bad.

The entire outfit however... with the white pants.... That **** can't be real. Horrible.

Overall I dig it! I still don't like the crazy collar (and those two crowns are reeking havok on my OCD), but it does look better in those photos. As I expected it does look way better in a different setting. Those numbers look awesome. This thing would be perfect if it had an all black collar. Another thing I find goofy is the black fabric trim piece at the bottom of the main body section. Why isn't it also carried over onto the sleeves?

I like the stripes because they compliment the kings angular logo really well; whereas the sharks logo looks odd (not to mention I hate their colors).

Thanks for the pics KK!

The idea of the jersey isn't bad, I mean white and grey are cool, it's the GIGANTIC NUMBERS and white shorts that suck ass.

I agree I bet it would look good if they just go with Black pants. Someone should photo chop an example for us.

Has anybody purchased one yet? I find it hard to believe the Kings won't be stuck with a lot of these and have to clear them out at some point. Re-releasing the Burger King jersey would have sold a lot more jerseys, ugly retro sells, new ugly sits.

I saw quite a few fans sporting them at the game yesterday. Contrary to your feelings, the Kings are selling them at a brisk pace.

I'll bet they're on steep clearance before the end of the season. They should come with one of those phones with giant numbers for old people.
