I am also pretty sure that Raftis will sell. But pretty sure means there are still nagging doubts. And selling means different things to different people.

Hopefully the rumours on moving Gibson are true. But in my mind, that stops short of being a successful deadline. We have enough high end players that would be sought after, that the goal should be set at 3 players moved out.
Gibson
Mignosa
Cloutier
Nordh
Allard
Schenkel
Carlisle

Move 3 and bring in a young stud, and it's a win from me.

Total guesses here:

- I think Miggy goes with Gibson to Oshawa
- I think Cloutier stays, as our only real OA candidate next year and probable captain.
- I think Nordh goes to Sudbury
- I think Allard goes to Brampton
- I think Charlie goes to Kingston
- I think Carlisle stays

Definitely more likely Oshawa will take Miggy now that Romani is heavily rumoured to be headed to Barrie. Making Griffin heading our way with Smith more possible now. Still not convinced we'll end up with both, but certainly a positive move.

It's too bad about Kostov. Hasn't really developed at all since going to Flint. He's at basically the same pts/gm since going there as he had on the Soo last year.

Had he stayed in the Soo, I was really eager to see him build on his game.

He was an ‘06-3rd pick, there is still a lot of time. I thought he was pretty effective in the past month. I did not watch much of Flint when really struggling as a team, so I cannot really comment on the season as a whole.

If the Gibson trade falls through for Oshawa I think they’ll pivot to a guy like Mitch young for Owen griffin/brady smith and maybe just a straight swap- save picks

Or only picks for him driving up the price of young

Or Gibson maybe only goes for picks now unless a team like Brantford steps up?

Would change a lot of things

The Soo
All I know is, every minute closer to the deadline and I feel just a little bit more anxious about things.

If we come out of this deadline poorly Raftis can pack his bags... (not that he even lives here)

Not to sound like too much of a homer, but if they aren't going to a team that is second to London at developing NHL players (since 2011 anyways) and primed to make a big run in the coming years, then they probably aren't going anywhere.

We've still got time and options, but Oshawa doesn't. Perhaps the market was held up due to this situation and that's why other big names haven't moved.

I thought Gibson to Oshawa was pretty much done. Is there a secondary contender that could swoop in for him?

I think if Oshawa can’t get their part of the deal done and it drags on Gibson goes somewhere else potentially a place like Kingston for whatever they were offering- or a mystery team could jump out of the mix and pull Gibson away.

Or Oshawa can convince their young guy the Soo is a great destination- more playing time etc.

Lots of factors to consider and I think we won’t see Gibson traded for a few more days probably because of it. It’s only the 6th. Deadline on the 10th (9th for OA’s)

Kingstons been in on him since the start of the season but apparently pulled out due to Oshawa getting involved with smith/griffin.

Now I wonder if maybe Gibson goes for a big pick package like a Jorian Donovan/pavel mintyukov type deal

The fact that the entire market is held up because of this tells you that Gibson is the most sought after player. I'm sure that most teams have offers in. It's just up to Raftis to choose the best one.
