Hard not to view this as a failure by Raftis. Unless he has another destination already arranged for the trade deadline.

It's a real stretch to consider this any kind of failure. This sets a nice market for Nordh, as he is a better player than Alriksson. Plenty of teams have room for an import.

Erie: Misiak is having a rough year and could also open up an OA spot.

Kitchener: Has an open spot

Niagara: Has an open spot

Oshawa: I'm sure they would deal David Svozil if it meant getting Nordh.

Windsor: Would certainly give up Josef Eichler if it meant getting Nordh.

There's other teams too that may be surprise buyers.

If we get less than 2,3,3 for Nordh or don't deal him at all then there was a failure, but the notion that this trade represents any failure on our part is utterly ridiculous.

It’s hard for me to think Allard and Nordh get split up….

I think you and I are on the same wave-length.

I'm just speculating, but feel like we could see them moved together with strong lobbying from Utah. That will also depend on Allard's health, the guy can't seem to catch a break!

If true:

Erie for Misiak makes a ton of sense. He's taking up 2 slots as an OA import.

Oshawa for Svozil and D'Amato also makes sense. You can maybe get Brady Smith for them if Gibson goes elsewhere.

Misiak has 20 points in 21 games including 8 in his last 6. Wouldn’t call that a rough year.

I was thinking more the other side of the game. A friend who works in media there tells me that he's been demoted to the bottom 6 and actually benched mid-game a couple of times due to defensive miscues and lack of effort.

If that's the case, I think you need more of an impact from a guy taking up 2 slots. I know the part about the demotion and benching is true, but maybe an Erie fan can chime in on his defensive play.
