Not gonna lie, Middleton is impressing me. He’s doing the things Manson was not doing this year—using his size and leverage to muscle guys off the puck and making the simple play. Obviously he’s not better than Manson but…he understands he’s not a puckmover.
I died laughing when he “passed” the puck over to Malinski in the first. He was under very little pressure and just ripped it at him. Overall though, I agree he’s at least been better than expected. Not sure I’d want him in regularly but considering the cap crunch we could have worse in his role.

Do we need any more proof that George was a cancer and dragging this team down even beyond his horrible goaltending? Look at the joy in this moment. CMac did the right thing firing him to the moon. The price to correct the problem was a bit high but for a cup contender nearing window's end it was the right thing to do.

As somebody who has lost family to "Big C" , I think "cancer" to describe AG is a little strong. I never like throwing that word around if I don't have to.

I think Georgiev was - is - just weird. An oddball. A little anti-social. Maybe wound a little too tight. Not a bad human being, he just didn't fit in. He knew he didn't fit in, the team knew he didn't fit in, the team knew that he knew he didn't fit in, . . . it just wasn't right. Unfortunately Justus is kinda cut from the same cloth. Just a little odd. And the team tended to play very tight in front of both. Adios.

MacSakic knew they couldn't wait around, so they pulled the trigger. I don't think the price was too high at all. Kovalenko is a good player. But probably not top 6. There are a a slew of Kovalenkos out there, and if that's what is needed later, I'm sure the TDL will provide. Frankly I'm a little stunned the Sharks didn't hang on to Blackwood for a bit longer - that guy's price was gonna skyrocket by the TDL. The resume is only one game long, but the I think maybe the Avs stole Blackwood. Big, fast, mobile - and likeable - goalies are like Wonka Golden Tickets. But it sounds like the Avs and Sharks management get along and maybe we got a "Friends and Family" discount. Who knows.

For now, the Avs no longer have a goalie problem. Which is quite refreshing.

Barry Trotz is a terrible GM. Only okayish move they’ve made is signing RoR, but all the other moves have been terrible.
Buying out Duchene never made sense back then and is looking worse and worse every day.

Didn’t realize he leads them in scoring and wears an A now.
Remember the "leaders" on that team are guys like Benn, Seguin, and Marchment.

Not exactly a big deal to wear a letter in Dallas.

Makar has been struggling badly lately.

1 point in a 5 goals for game?

He's probably day dreaming of living a short drive to Banff and being part of the battle of Alberta.

Everyone says trade Rants. I say trade Makar. For Byram.

We should trade Makar for as many 2027 1sts as we can get, DuPont could be anything, he could even be Makar!

“I thought we were going to be much better than what we were, but I did talk to a handful of guys and they're just not feeling well. Logan O'Connor was puking after the first period, and he played a heck of a game, but when you're not feeling well and you're not energized, you're not going to play that great.” -Bedsy

Damn. Just caught this. Makes the win even more incredible, and I was puking today too after last nights helluva pre-christmas party. Living the Avs supporter life to the max lol!

It's amazing he put up that game on the tail end of being sick too. You can tell he's gassed. His eyes are practically glazing over mid interview.

I love it, extend this man. Mikko can have what's left if he wants to stay. (More likely someone is traded Colton or Manson).

G was responsible for 2 goals against but Malinski was downright terrible tonight. He's been regressing lately, don't know if he's sick or playing top 4 minutes is just a bit much for him.

Yeah, I see it like LOC, but getting used to more minutes should be possible with experience, and a better partner.

Sorry to hear that. Much like calling a deal stillborn back in the day was tasteless maybe calling someone a cancer should leave our lexicon.

Yeah maybe Malinski is sick as well but I have noticed for a few games now he holds the puck just a bit too long under pressure. He needs to move it a little faster. Maybe he got a little too confident with the puck as he was doing great before.
