I saw upper arm/shoulder contact to the head. I think with Bryce serving 5 and a game already, there is less chance of supplemental discipline. We will see.
This is 100% not correct. It becomes really clear if you are able to slow down the replay and zoom in. There's absolutely nothing to indicate that there was any head contact. This isn't even a debatable opinion, unless you get a different camera angle.

I think you'll also notice that Oke sustained some sort of injury to his left arm, judging by his reaction. That was the main point of contact.

Hope Oke is ok. At first, it looked like a dive in attempt to draw a penalty. But seeing him leave the game and ultimately not return changed my original thought. I don't think a suspension is warranted from the angle the Saginaw camera showed. Of course, I could be biased as a Hound fan. We'll know more tomorrow. Can't wait for Monday night. Chance of a Jack Beck return?

Can we stop for a minute and show some love for the 2008 Soo Jr. Greyhounds? I know the team dispersed this year to go play for various U16 programs down south, but if you look at last year's U15 AAA roster there were 10 players drafted off that roster, and one more who will definitely be drafted next year (Chitaroni). Congrats to all those players who were drafted.

I don't want to forget about Charlie Schenkel tonight. He gave up a couple of goals, but made big saves at key times, something which he has had a lot of difficulty with in his career. Good game from him.

that was WILD!!

Soo fans were BUZZING!

Lazary blaming the ice again is classic.
I've never seen a coach be so pissy and unprofessional in a postgame interview.

He seemed to be like that all season and especially against us, and the ice is always to blame 😭 😭 😭 😭 biggest whinny coach in the league

After graduations (BMB, Hayes G, Karki, Kudryavtsev, Beck, Frasca, D'Intino), here is our approximate depth Chart by position. Note 5 potential OAs on the list. Once it's reduced to 3, we have a total of 9 roster spots to fill.

Just would like to step away from the refereeing comments to say congrats to the hounds for beating, arguably the top team in the OHL without BMB and Beck, in their own barn, in the playoffs. Huge props to the guys in this one, whatever happens.

I don’t want to hear another person tell me Saginaw is deeper. Keep stat watching.

Caeden Carlisle is a top 4 D on any team in this league. I think you need to move that whole column up a row. Consider the same at centre.

Goaltending: Miller is our future and needs to play. Nothing against Schenkel, but he would impede Miller's development and tie up an OA spot. Sign Tegelaar and Camputaro. Get what you can for Charlie.

Defense: With Gibson looming as a trade candidate, we are a little thin at RD. I would consider using one of our import selections to address that spot. The left side is deep enough if we can sign Croskery. I have confidence that Evans will develop into a top 4 guy as soon as next year. We will probably entertain signing 4th round pick Harris Pangretitsch as depth.

Forward: Left wing is the obvious weakness. We should also consider using an import selection here. After making a decision on Fantino/DeZoete, signing Cali, and bringing in an import, we're still looking at about 4 spots up for grabs. That could be addressed via 4th round pick Carson Andrew, signing of previous draft picks, trade, or the U18 draft.

Looks like a mid-pack playoff team next year, at least until the trade deadline...

Then block them cause everyone has their own opinions and are entitled to them. But just because you think we are deeper doesn't mean we are.

Opinions vary and we can't keep telling everyone they're wrong lol. And stats can be skewed, a lot of variables come into play.

Just my opinion anyway

It’s not even an opinion. It’s fact.

But pretty soon you'll be posting to yourself lolol.

Stats are never the best way to look at how deep a team is. How many of those stats were pre or post deadline? After the deadline, how many +500 teams did they play? Sometimes depth doesn't show up on the scoreboard man.

Just other ways to look at things. Doesn't have to be black-and-white all the time

Nvm.

When does OHL usually update their media notes or just randomly whenever they make a decision?

Also it sounds as if Jack Beck is cleared to play and the decision is on Beck now.

I think it’s fair to say that a team that outplays the other at even strength (goaltending excepted) will take fewer penalties.

I think it’s also fair to say that neither of these teams have drastically changed their style of play during this series.

Saginaw was 5th in the league in penalties, while Sault Ste. Marie was 18th.

The Soo generally outplayed Saginaw in the regular season and what was the result? 41 powerplays for the Soo and 26 poweplays for Saginaw. Given what we know, that isn't particular surprising.

What's the story in the playoffs when the Greyhounds continue to outplay Saginaw (goaltending excepted) on the whole? A double digit gap in favour of Saginaw. Insane.

Fantino hypes up a Greyhounds fan in the crowd, gets a penalty. Parekh, one of the league's most unsportsmanlike players, mocks the Greyhounds bench immediately after, with no call. That's the opposite of way things are usually called.

McConnell-Barker, a player with no history of such things, absolutely, positively, does not make contact with Oke's head in an incidental collision. The refs have clear proof of this and still make a ridiculously incorrect call. Note that the Greyhounds coaches and players deny that head contact was made, as well as Chris Lazary not using that term in several answers. We'll see the reason why in due time.

Host bias is a real thing. We've all seen that in the past and expected it. It's a bad look for the league when the host sits out 2 rounds. A couple of ticky-tack slashes going the wrong way is not what people are upset about, but maybe they could call Hache when he literally breaks a stick over Frasca's leg in game 1. Maybe they could just make it a little less obvious. It is bad for the game. That's no conspiracy, most of this is empirical evidence.
