OT - NO POLITICS Spring has sprung

If you were a kid in the 70s, JC Penney's Christmas catalog blew Sears' away......
Both were awesome  especially if you strategically looked through it in front of Grandma :D

LONG POST PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND REPORT

Cleared out a 17x19 space in the corner of the year. Dug down just an inch or so, pretty much just pried the grass up. Then got it fairly flat. Dumped a bunch of weed preventer over it and watered it in. Still have to lay some weed fabric over it, and then it's ready for the shed being put up next week! After the shed is up, I think we will backfill/decorate with rocks and such, and maybe build a ramp. All the mulch, grass, and dirt that was dug up is either already being used elsewhere or is in barrels waiting for a place.

Pulled a ton of poison ivy out of the bushes and chain link fence all around the yard. My better half is still fighting off rashes from poison ivy exposure two weeks ago. I have a bad feeling that my luck has run out. I played in the ivy a couple times in the last 5-7 days, and from what I remember about my last go 'round is that it took about that long until it really started to get me. I'm starting to feel itchy, but hoping it's just my sunburn getting all dry and scaly.

Someone thought it was a bright idea to put a manual pole saw into my hands. We cleared out a ton of branches in the back that would have hit/hung over the shed. Then I decided to continue poking at the very dead tree in the front of the house that is rooted in the sidewalk. I don't think the city allows us to cut this tree, but it's dead, huge branches are always falling into the yard or sidewalk, it's dangerous and it's getting worse. So I went a little overboard with the pole saw because it got addicting. My upper back and shoulders are upset with me.

Had a lacrosse game on Mother's Day. Went for a couple walks. Made some chicken and quinoa stuffed peppers on Saturday that I crushed again on Sunday. Ate too many donuts and still have a bunch left. Solid, productive weekend. I am tired.

Also pulled the trigger on transportation to Florida with the kids. I'm flying. Out of Boston no less. Not at all excited about it. Just happy that it's done. My better half is pissed that we paid 300 bucks more than if we bought flights a couple weeks ago, for more convenient flights, but it's done. We will get there, kids will lose their minds at Volcano Bay again. All is well.

My lab is almost 4 and she is getting better without the gentle leader but it makes such a difference. My MIL thinks its "mean" and then always complains about her shoulder hurting from the pulling. 🤷‍♂️

I loved the gentle leader! When I first put it around Zdeno I could've walked him with a pinky finger. Totally changed the way he walked outside. He eventually figured out how to pull me down the road and then he ended up getting jacked shoulders from it lol but it was great for a while.

It isn't your traditional productive weekend but I got a total of 2 small bowls, 3 coasters and 30 mosaic tiles (hexagon and small penny round) glazed so they can be clear coated and put in the final fire queue. In total, I have 43 total tiles that I will be using to build 2 mosaic pieces for my living room and office.

If you've ever wanted to try ceramics/pottery, do it! It has been the best thing I've done for myself in a very long time.

yep. A few years ago when the two of us had it, she was itchy head to toe that night and covered in bumps within a day or 2. A couple days later I got the scratchies and then another day or two i had some bubbles. Mine also went away several days faster. I lucked out.

I think some people are really sensitive to it, and need steroids to get through it. I just covered myself in calamine for a few nights, and used Benadryl to help sleep.

Last week took flooring to Maine for new house.
Found a rental
Wife 2 interviews, both want her (veterinan)

Listed house Wed
Open house Sun, offer came in
Accepted it today

It's happening
One day closer to moving to Maine!
Awesome!

I was not in Vermont I would be in Blue Hill in a second, love it there.

We have family in MA so we wanted to be under 3 hours away for day trips. But if not, Blue Hill peninsula all day long. Good schools, ocean, woods, ponds, lakes, hiking, festivals, etc. Love it there.

I love these photos! I love the covered bridge too, we have the oldest one in Ontario very close by. It was actually used during the filming of "It".
