Came home tonight and it's 80 degrees in the house. Couldn't get the fan to kick on for anything. Called the landlord, he said the whole system is due to be replaced so he'll call first thing in the morning to get it scheduled. Hopefully that won't take a week or something

In the meantime, windows are open, using cooling towels and ceiling fan.

They gave me oxy at the ER and I have to admit.... I understand the appeal now. No pain, body felt like I was 25 again for a couple of hours. They tried to prescribe me some on my way out to pick up at the pharmacy and I declined. I'm 45 and dont need to pick up a drug habit at my ripe old age.

I am flying to NYC tomorrow night to visit my daughter. We are planning a road trip North towards Maine where it looks like there is plenty of construction on the 95. Would it be better to take the 1? Number 9 closer to the coast?

It would have to be some really bad traffic for Rt1 to be quicker than 95

It is f***ing IMPOSSIBLE to get anywhere with the orange line down. I go to a 9AM class at my gym 3x/week, usually takes me about 20 mins with regular morning traffic. Tuesday it took me 35 and today I gave up and turned around after 25 mins because I'd only gone a mile and a half.

Sometimes I really, really, hate living where the people are.

I don’t know if I could live that close to the city like you do. I hate sounding like this, but the older I get, the less I like “the public.” And I never liked the public all that much to begin with. People as individuals: love em. Large groups of people: no, thanks.

When I retire in 7 years, 3 months and 16 days, I’m probably moving to the a nice cozy place up in the mountains or the countryside.

Good luck! I never want to have one again. I legit told the emt and the er doc to please let me die bc it hurt so bad. They laughed at me and gave me morphine. Spent 3 days at Faulkner hospital :/

They gave me oxy when I had my hip replaced. My doctor said I had to take them before any pain got too intense. I did but never used all they gave me.

I was told no driving until I was off pain meds. They thought 4-6 weeks before I drove. Two weeks for me. I live alone in NH...you have to drive.

We had a nice thunderstorm for about an hour this morning - lots of lightning but little thunder, rain or wind. It is going to be hot and humid today....yuck! The AC is on.

On the bright side, we were shopping yesterday and the cheese I picked up had an expiry date of September. I said to hubby "Look! Summer is almost over!".

We had a nice thunderstorm for about an hour this morning - lots of lightning but little thunder, rain or wind. It is going to be hot and humid today....yuck! The AC is on.

On the bright side, we were shopping yesterday and the cheese I picked up had an expiry date of September. I said to hubby "Look! Summer is almost over!".

It is humid and warm here. My least favorite weather. I hate to wish away Summer, but the last few years have been brutal. I would take Winter any day over hot and humid.

I am getting a new washing machine today. I hated the old one and it was leaking on the floor (plus it was OLD). I would clean it often, but it still smelled musty. I read it is common for front-loaders to get musty.

I had a front-loaded washer but never liked it. I got a top load one. We will see.

I totally agree. Most are "smart" now. I probably won't use any smart features because it isn't my thing (hey...I am old). It is an LG. I just want one that will clean my clothes and uses less water. Hopefully it will be the last washer I purchase. Also needs to be big enough to wash blankets and bigger stuff.

I had researched on Consumer reports. The LG brand does well there.

We went with a top loader after having a front loader that really didn't last as long. I still remember it breaking in the middle of a cycle with the water in it. Top loaders are nice, you can add things to the cycle if you forget something, they are very easy to keep clean too. I would never get a front loader again.

Ultimately and most recent is a Speed Queen. The home version of the industrial washers they make for colleges, laundromats and hotels.
Its a beast. 75 pounds heavier than the usual washer. Expensive but came with a 20 year no questions asked warranty.
