7.7 earthquake in Bangkok Thailand

I just saw another clip where a skyscraper under construction collapsed. There was a crane mounted high up and you can see the operator was thrown from it as the building fell. Horrifying.

I have friends who live over there but last I heard they were not directly affected.

'Raven' (approximately 12 - 18 years of age) had a stroke or heart attack today while I was out. She is no longer with us.
I'll be digging a hole and laying her to rest with the others (many other pets spanning almost 25 years) in the back of the yard.

My sincere and deepest condolences. That's what I fear happened to my late cat Pugsley this past summer. Died at my feet. It was horrific and traumatizing that I'm still not over it.

Raven was a beautiful cat. And I'm sure she was loved. She'll be met at the rainbow bridge. ❤️

Nasty nasty earthquake. The death toll is unfortunately going to be big. Bangkok in Thailand is over 600 miles away from the epicenter and even there large buildings were brought down. Myanmar took the brunt of it and that is a poor country already embroiled in a civil war. Some very difficult days ahead there.

The search and rescue effort will be enormous, with the number of large buildings that came down. Makes me think of 9/11

RIP Raven. I am so sorry, it hurts every time we lose a pet. Those eyes are amazing.

Swerved last night to avoid hitting an opossum. Too many dead animals on Florida roads. Its depressing.
I agree, it is very sad. This time of year there seems to be more since animals are on the move.

On a positive note, here is a picture of our resident possum gathering leaves for nesting. I didn't know until I saw this that they use their tails like that. Fascinating creatures, very good to have around since they eat ticks, rats, mice and lots of other insects. They don't do well up here in Canada because they aren't native to our area. They hitched rides on trucks and sadly a lot of them get frostbite in their tails and ears.
