Sort of Yankees and Gerrit Cole Agree to Maintain Contract

So Cole opted out of the 4 year / $144m deal, but the Yankees had the ability to void the opt out if they added on a 10th year to the remaining deal and made it 5 / $180m but they decided not to do that which would have made Cole a free agent... but then Cole rescinds the opt out and commits to the original deal of 4 / $144m with the idea that both sides will re-negotiate the deal or re-negotiate beyond the 4 / $144m.

Yankees called his bluff, and I'm guessing he realized he wasn't going to beat 4/$144 on the market.
