They will be fine.

Mind you, I didn't have them labeled as a serious cup threat, but I do think of them as a playoff team.

Sometimes, you do see an adjustment period when you make significant changes to your core in one off season.

I expect the preds to figure it out as the season moves along.

I’m interested to see the game tonight. I watched their game last night and they seemed relatively low energy and let the Hawks control the pace a lot of the time. CBJ has been weirdly good so far against teams that let them control the game. And they’re well rested. Could be telling for either team tonight.

Seems like an overreaction to make any conclusions this early, both with the team and Stamkos.

Everyone knows Stamkos is not a play driver, he's a finisher. Guys like that will have great stats when the team plays well and terrible stats when the team plays poorly. 1 goal in 7 games is a bad start but he's a post and a stick knob save away from 3 in 7 and then nobody would be talking about it. He's also always been a very streaky player. He'll have stretches where he's completely snake bitten and then stretches where everything goes in. Give it time.

Give it time lol? Why not just accept that he's a washed up overrated PP merchant who just like you mentioned, can barely drive play and is only a finisher. His contract was an albatross from day f***ing one it was signed, and he needs to f***ing retire at this point. His leg injuries did screw him over in terms of acceleration and speed, we can't deny that, but he's an overrated player and always has been IMO. The streakiness is not a coincidence without that fully desired playmaker that he pretty much always needs for production.

Anybody with eyes could've called it a long time ago that he was going to be suffering production wise without Kucherov. The mfers predicting a deep WCF appearance/cup run for Nashville this year were 100% smoking crack LOL

The hyperbole around here is out of hand. A guy with 40 goals 81 points last year should retire? Most of his goals and point last year were even strength not PP, and most of his even strength TOI was not with Kucherov. But don't let the facts get in the way of your narrative.
Yes, the contract was an overpay, but that's what happens with almost any UFA. It's not like Barry Trotz is suddenly an idiot.

I think that he's still in shock over leaving Tampa and uncomfortable with his new surroundings. I suspect that it'll take him a lot of time to adjust and he'll end up having a better second half of the season. He may never score as much as he used to or be worth his contract, but I imagine that he can still be a productive player once he settles in.

Not angry, just laughing at people who think you should give it time for a mediocre player like Stamkos lol. I mean this was the same dude who was arguably Tampa's 5th best player during their back to back cup runs
Mediocre is obviously an exaggeration

Agree though that Stamkos is not an elite / game breaking player anymore and hasn’t been for a while now.

That contract will likely go down as the worst signed this offseason, unless one of the goalies who signed for big $ completely implodes. And that seems like it’s always a possibility with goalies no matter their pedigree.
