Higher ups never lose their jobs in any industry.
They do if there is a big enough scandal. But it does not matter as they get a big fat check when they get laid off and usually have connections to get a cushy job somewhere else.

Yeah the final verdict sums it up "It's nice for those who see it but there will be a lot of people who do not see a difference". This would be a nice upgrade at maybe 200 bucks more with a disc drive. Not whatever the cost for this thing is now.

Most people would get more benefits by upgrading their TV.

It's crazy the number of people who have machines that can pump out big numbers while still using some old 1080p screen.

I actually still have a 1080p tv, but mine is a high end Samsung from the late 2010s, and it gets probably twice as bright and tbh has better image quality than any of the low end 4k tvs on the market so it’s not really worth upgrading unless I pick up an oled or a higher end 4ktv

Still I probably will pick up a new tv before I bothered upgrading my ps5

I upgraded to a Pro during the PS4 generation, but that was due to my launch PS4 getting pretty wonky, and on the verge of croaking

I see no reason to upgrade this time, the regular PS5 works just fine, and I upgraded the storage way back, so really no need to spend the money

Same boat. The base PS5 also doesn't sound like a jet engine, while my launch PS4 was so loud I started wearing headphones even when home by myself. I have 2 TB extra in it, too, so the thought of an upgrade isn't anywhere on my mind yet.

Considering how long it took me to find a PS5, the minimal upgrade, and the cost. This isn't an appealing product. Especially without a damn disc drive.

Absolutely this. I had a 4K TV, but it had plenty of limitations (only one 4K input, which was capped at 30 fps, being a big one) and the picture started to go before I ever saw a PS5 in the wild. It bit the dust about a month ago and I replaced it with a proper new OLED and it actually feels like there's a difference between this generation and last for the first time. That's my mid-generation refresh.

Quite unimpressive and poor value as expected. Double the price but not anywhere near double the performance.
Performance isn't the main appeal of it for me, it's PSSR. FF7 Rebirth and Stellar Blade look significantly better than base PS5.

I bought my current PS5 less than a month ago, I might return it and give the Pro a shot.
