Outside of the new Ghost game, awful.

Remasters, ports, remaster for game that came out less than a decade ago.

I can at least understand something like Legacy of Kain but do we really need a bloody Horizon remaster when it's not even 8 years old?
I've always been a fan of remasters and remakes because when it started it was PS1/PS2 games on PS3, where they were otherwise unavailable or unplayable. It's a good thing that lots of PS1, PS2 and PSP games are being made playable now, because there should be as much of PS/gaming's history available as possible. I can play Horizon Zero Dawn right now. If I'd never played it before, I could still play it right now. I wouldn't play it right now and think this is terrible because it's not shiny and Aloy doesn't have enough facial hair.

Does it seem to anyone else Sony's been going one step forward and two back for a while now?

People have been killed for much less than the failure that was Concord, I assume the Pro price hike is related to Concord costing them more than the annual maintenance budget of a medium sized city.

But then Astro Bot.

PS5 Pro with no Disc drive and probably just one controller, $800 after tax, and whatever's happening with Assassin's Creed: Homeboys in Japan.

But then Tsushima 2 and Metaphor coming shortly, even if I don't think it's gonna be a huge hit (it looks great but I'd honestly rather have P6).

Sony is extremely lucky Xbox has been a corpse for almost a decade now.

^Microsoft really messed up forcing everyone to get a Kinect at launch, making the price higher then it should've been. Had it released at a lower price and with the momentum from a successful 360 era, the One could've been a much better contender to PS4.
It was not forced. I got mine without it at launch. One was sold without the Kinect as well.

Sony has nothing to do with AC or Metaphor. Concord whiffed and the industry as a whole is kinda f***ed. That's about it. Though yea even in a light year (for every platform) they're still beating out Microsoft for games.

Days late on this but the Lunar series was very special to me as a kid. As a massive JRPG fan, they were my favourites not made by Squaresoft. I still have the collectors boxes for the two PS1 releases in my basement. I was absolutely stunned when I heard the music start while casually watching the State of Play. I generally don't get excited for remasters as I don't have a ton of time to replay nostalgic games but I will definitely be buying this one!

Would definitely recommend them if you have a traditional JRPG itch to scratch. They were some of the earliest with voice acting/anime scenes, a lot of heart in it. Great music and rock solid gameplay. Not sure what the QoL improvements will be and hope the re-dub is good but I love the attempt regardless.

I couldn't believe it, this and Suikoden 1-2 coming out next year will be great.

You were forced at launch at $499, $99 more than the PS4. Xbox One launched November 22nd 2013. They finally caved and sold it without the kinect June 9th 2014 for $399.

Lunar 2 is to me what many PS1-era gamers consider to be their FFVII. The series is incredibly special to me and I was shocked when this announcement popped up out of the blue. Can't wait to re-experience it.

The industry wide death spiral continues, until dawn remake was a bigger flop than concord. We’re witnessing a second videogame crash in real time.

Holy overreaction Batman. Just because the consumers reject yet another lazy, shitty remaster for a game less than 10 years old that no one asked for doesn't mean the apocalypse is nigh.

Like there's nothing to justify this. There's largely no gameplay because it's a walking sim so nothing to upgrade there. The original until dawn still looks fine so again, nothing to really justify there.

There's actually good, new, original stuff coming out in the coming days. Those games will sell fine.

We’re gonna see with dragon age. This will either kill or revive the studio

Some people were speculating that maybe Concord would come back as a F2P game. Sony just shut the studio down so that's not happening.
