It doesn't show on the original tweet that I see though - Nov. 21 is Hockey Fights Cancer

I guess it’s both on that night but obviously the Cancer cause will overshadow that.

I’m not saying he’s necessarily wrong but perhaps I just realize these things regardless if it’s the Flyers, NHL, or any other sports team/league are just marketing ploys & not genuine anyway.

I can't believe it's already been a year since this stupid f***ing tweet happened

Imagine being a young guy on the team sitting in the press box or the AHL watching Yandle out there every night stink it up with no consequences to his standing because of the dumb streak.

Obviously they’d never publicly say anything or even say anything internally but it would be interesting if you heard their true feelings on the situation last year.

Propping up Yandle for teaching them “how to be a pro” was always LOL funny.

I’d be beside myself having to watch that jackass avoid contact every night by all means necessary and just play like shit with no recourse while I’m trying to make it in the league.

As I've said, the front office talking ad nauseam about a winning culture, and then doing what they did with "Yands," is like Jeffrey Dahmer talking about the wonders of veganism.

"Decisions need to be made every day. Us players don’t make those decisions. It’s truly on us, the reason he probably had to sit out a game. I can’t say I agree with it. The impact that Keith has on myself and the guys in that locker room is something that can’t be measured. I mean, I know sometimes the media is all over him, but what he provides to some of the young guys on this team is something that no one else can do."

The way that empty headed asshole talks, you’d think players were on the ice just picturing Yandles face as mid-shift motivation. As if they’re having conscious non-hockey thoughts while playing. Or as if they’re in the middle of a board battle and they look over their shoulder, see him on the bench, and suddenly have the strength to outmuscle the opponent.

Having him - or any other “great character guy” - on the ice or bench has absolutely zero impact on his teammates, but these pricks are so dishonest or brainwashed that they say this kind of stupid shit all the time. Problem is most fans are dumb enough to eat this shit up and we know the management thinks it’s more important than actual hockey skills.

You bring up a good point. I wonder how much of the trouble in the locker room stems from the unaccountability of the veterans.
