Meadowlands is right outside of NYC which us the biggest city in the hosting 3 nations, with the easiest access. It only males sense that they're getting it, and its silly to think they would have seriously considered anywhere else.

Right? I assume I’m just being messed with. Should not have taken the bait.

I’m going off the old one that was right next door to the new one but my experience:

Two World Cup games in 1994

2005 concacaf final

Juve/ac Milan
One of those against Man United ( Tim Howard’s first game)

Barca against ny mls team

I think. Forgetting a couple more matches

Meadowlands has had an amazing environment for international soccer. Are you just trashing the new stadium? I have never been. The attendance was always electric and beyond any Flyers Eagles game I have ever been to.

Putting grass down? Really? Of course they will. Sarcasm ... I guess? Or trolling ...
Bait? No. I was generally curious. I went to school up that way and it never struck me as a great place for a game (the “new” stadium). It’s NYC I get it but the stadium itself is kind of boring - could be the occupants tbh.

They refuse to put grass down for their football teams even though they seem to have more season ending injuries than any other stadium. It’s a bit of a running controversy. I guess enough FIFA money will finally get them to switch. And didn’t they force the women to play on turf in NA or am I misremembering?

Setting aside the question of the stadium, where do you think most people from around the world would rather visit, NYC or Dallas?

NYC. But it’s also in New Jersey with the awful smell of Secaucus in the air and not NYC.

Honestly thought it’d be LA with the new fancy stadium and nice weather.

Sorry for the confusion. The only American sporting event that has come remotely close to matching the intensity of any of the soccer matches at the meadowlands was the army/navy game in the vet back in the day.

Been to a bunch of eagles/giants games there. Hockey games, big house, Ohio state and a bunch more big venues. Nyc just brings out an electric crowd for soccer, regardless of who is playing( not including mls, lol)

It is going to be a spectacular final

You also have to remember that while you and I know it's not NYC, the millions of people coming from overseas won't be any wiser until its too late.

Given its FIFA, I wouldn't be surprised if they took a bribe from the city to make sure it's played there as well.

I was thinking about Azteca. That stadium is farther from the heart of Mexico City than meadowlands from Manhattan. If you build it, they will come
