You would have faced Finland in the semis if you could have won the game against Russia in the regulation. So who can we blame for that? If you want to be able to get Can-Usa finals you have to be able to win all the "meaningless" games too. That's why those are played..

Why didn't US win Russia in regulation? Then they would faced Finland in semis. I mean, after all, if Finland can beat Russia in regulation in QF, why USA cant do it in preliminary round? After all isnt USA superior team compared to Finland?

Clearly some of us are not taking this Olympic tournament's results to rank the teams. In that case, we have to look at potential and Sweden had many key players injured. If they had all their players available, I could see them giving Canada a better fight than how the USA fought. Sweden is better than the USA.

Except the Canadian team would have played with about as much "heart" as the Americans, if due to bad luck they had found themselves in the same game. Are you going to say the same thing about them?

I know it really annoys a lot of people over the ocean, but it's this mentality which helps a team like Canada win gold - we don't play to "do our best," we play to win it all.

And if we can't win it all, we don't care anymore.

It's actually a credit to the Americans that they're thinking this way more and more themselves.
