The Rangers need to find that player before he comes the highly desired commodity. They drafted Kreider when he was a bunch of raw, untapped potential. Now he's in line for a potential Calder and is virtually untouchable. The team needs to do the leg work and find a kid who is ready to take that next big step. Boston did it with the Seguin deal. They landed a good player in Eriksson, but the real gem in that deal is Smith. 9 points in 37 NHL games before the trade and now look at him.

Find a Kreider-type of player who is the Kreider of last year, not the one we see breaking out this year.

They don't grow on trees. A big guy like him who can skate like a wind and score goals...

i wanted schroeder or josefson on draft day and was happy when both were available. good thing the rangers went with the beast instead. kreider was prob by 3rd choice though when 19th overall came up.

What BRB said

Feel like he's not shooting enough too. Maybe Nash's hot streak made him feel he should defer to him more idk

I also feel like he doesn't seem as physical since the Tyutin incident

CK has only notched points in one of his last 10 games. Any particular reason for the downturn?

Not Skating hard enough. He does this. It's a part of who he is. It's why he didn't have elite numbers in BC or in A.

He doesn't skate hard enough every game. Everyone notices when he turns on the jets.

How many turnovers has he created the last few games?

Or is he back to floating behind the play again?

Not finishing up every shift strong is a part of who Chris Kreider is.

I feel that, despite not scoring any points, he is definitely contributing on offense. His speed and physical presence gives guys like Nash the chance to score goals.

Kreids been invisible lately, right now he doesn't deserve a spot on the top line.

Time for some AV treatment, demote him, and maybe let him sit for a game.

He hasn't been invisible at all. Every game he gets himself at least one high quality scoring chance. Unfortunately, he's been deferring to Nash, or just not capitalizing.

Now his center, that's a guy who's been invisible.

I think he will be a very good player, but when you are on the first line and you have only scored a point once in the last 12 games, you are not doing the job.

Exactly Kreider is very rare and the scary thing is that he hanst even reached his potential yet

If he skates hard and played with full effort every shift, you'd hear his name being mentioned for the Olympics instead of 2011 2nd round pick Brandon Saad.

Saad is similar to Kreider except he doesn't have the elite level wheels. One is a hungry kid who knows nothing other than hockey and a Stanley Cup champion. The other is a millennial 3rd year pro rookie whose potential has been hyped for 5 years.

The difference is hunger. Hell even Benoit Pouliot is showing more hunger than Chris (although it took him several teams and years.. and the prospect of not being an NHL player to motivate him).

The way Kreider played to not get sent down is the way he should play every game. During the Lockout 3.0 I watched HFD live a ton of times. The team wasn't great, but the what stood out was how little energy Chris displayed.

Chris won't match his gifts until his effort level catches up on the ice (being a workout warrior is just a part of it). It's time for Chris to stop being a little daddy's boy and grow up and play like a real man.

Every ***damn shift.
