Laffy Zibs Kakko

This is the best Zibs has looked and he’s engaged. Same can be said for the kids.

Panarin Chytil Kravtsov

We can take the lumps on defense if this line produces. But with Panarin back in selke form, they should be alright.

Kreider Trocheck Goodrow

A meat and potatoes line that can match up if needed. Play simple Gallant hockey to a T. Be the example, as the 4th line has been doing

Blais/Vesey Brodz Gauthier

They’ve been strong. If Vesey sits, Brodz can pick up his PK duties. I’ve been saying it forever, Brodz needs to be on the team. His energy and speed is much needed

That first period against the Avs is such an important lesson for the kids. That's why they need to be up there to learn what it takes and the speed, compete level they need to bring every shift.

Typically the Rangers drop the kids down the lines after something like that instead of letting them learn from it and grow through it.

I don’t understand how Gauthier never gets a look in a top 9 RW spot. Every time the guy is on the ice something is happening and he was the only guy we had that could match the Avs speed. Has 4 even strength goals this year and he gets less TOI than the ice scrapers. Meanwhile Goodrow can go out there and just fling the puck wherever for 15 minutes and it’s all good
The lines should be

Lafreniere-Zibanejad-Kakko
Panarin-Chytil-Kravtsov
Kreider-Trochek-Gauthier
Brodzinski-Goodrow-Vesey

Uggh, is that what they really do to those cute little cowzies? Might become a veggietarian lol.(mis-spelling done in purpose)
I would say the weirdest thing about meat in Canada was going into a bar and asking for a burger medium, and learning that was totally not a thing north of the border.

Not disagreeing, there's something off with our system that our own players constantly running into one another or clueless of where they should be when attacking. I've been really obvious the past few games... the lineup changes have really highlighted the chaos.

We both posted about that last night in the 3rd period when Goodrow was in on the rush & it broke down like a bad schoolyard roller hockey sequence.
He literally stopped to allow the other forward to catch up to the play.
Which of course allowed the backcheck to catch up too.

I don't get it.

Rantanen's skating has improved leap and bounds the over last season or two (just as Kakko's is improving). They have the same skating coach in the off season (a 5 foot nothing figure skater lady). Rantanen's skating used to be a bit painful to watch, now it's getting towards being a strength of his.

If our forwards aren't the zippiest skaters it's extra important to have a smooth transition D to F and for the forwards have that vital extra step or two and receive the puck with speed under their skates. Other teams can do it, I doubt it's impossible for our group.

Tbh I don't think GG cares much about systems. He is even quite upfront about this. He wants his players to compete hard, that's what he's looking for. His Vegas team was tailor made for him. This Ranger team has an extra gear or two that he can't get out.
One of my biggest concerns is puck skills. We routinely mishandle passes, send passes that are skipping/rolling pucks rather than flat on the ice, and routinely hit legs and sticks when making passes through defenders where the defender is at the puck carrier and avoiding a leg or stick should be relatively easy.

We don’t get to see these teams in the Western Conference too much, but holy hell are Cale Makar and Mark Stone whiney. It’s a shame too, because I love the way they both play, but it’s really pathetic.

It’s also pretty clear that Georgiev was a bad teammate.
I know he wanted to start, and I don’t blame him for wanting out, but there has to be a level of professionalism. Not only did the honor is request, they sent him to the defending Cup champions. It’s not like they sent him to some awful teams Also if the rumors are the the guys intervened physically on his behalf against Tony DeAngelo. Just totally ungrateful and I’m glad he’s gone.
Going to take some issue with this. He seems very much liked in Colorado. He didn't mesh with the Rangers room, and thus it was obvious he needed to go. But I'm not buying the fact that it's all on Georgiev.

Whatever, he's not the issue here anymore so might as well focus on the stuff that is. As for TDA, he was scratched yesterday.

People bumping into each other not knowing where to go, causing turnovers and zone time in their end. Long cycles that don't produce anything. But 4 games above .500, so it's working.
It's kinda mind bogling how that team actually somewhat tightened up in the playoffs. But if we are honest, this is exactly how it was a year ago during the regular season. Disjointed, mostly bailed out by our goaltending. Shesty has started to look alive, hopefully he's starting to feel it. And gets a proper nap before home games.

We are not getting enough out of our players. Mika and Panaring should not be this inconsistent.

In fairness, it's been a third of a season, and there hasn't been any real goalie related drama yet there. I think it's one of those cases where people's true colors come out under duress. Curious if he has a bad stretch and starts getting criticized in the media what will happen.

Well...as a 9-10 year old you do see a lot of graphic images that tend to remain entrenched forever...cows bleeding out is one....but watching chickens run around without their heads and blood going everywhere is another and you never forget them events .Haha...the only thing that is worse is the smell of a chicken after it has been dunked in a vat of boiling water before being plucked of it's feathers. . When one is hungry...you do forget all about it and the smell of a huge steak on the BBQ can compensate.

LOL....I can't even imagine Gallant's uncles supposedly having turkeys in the basement...hence his nickname ......and maybe it is a true story ?

I doubt it, because such a thing never happened during his time with TPS either. He was one of the most well liked guys by his teammates and media during his time here.

He didn't get along with the Rangers locker room or with the fans, end of story. Messier also wasn't liked in Vancouver.

So they just cook it however they feel like? Or they make them all well done?
Not all...but they should...WTF wants a half cooked hamburger....the texture on your tongue when you hit that half cooked stuff is a reason not to go back to that eating spot . I don't know how people eat anything rare.....like eating/slopping/sucking down quahogs/oysters down raw...not for me !

Must be what you get used to growing up...Personally anything past medium for beef cooks all the flavor out of it. Same with Tuna or Salmon. Different strokes

“I thought we played well” he says as we all look around wondering if he watched the same game.

Even when they win it looks like a mess along the way.
The losses vs Edmonton and Chicago the team looked like total shit. They are playing with more confidence now, although not perfect, a BIG improvement from the last few weeks.
