Post-Game Talk: SNES @ Wings, Thursday night 7pm

It must’ve been devastating for Green to bench Hamonic, but he must see by now how Kleven-Matinpalo is a better pair with synergy than Kleven-Hamonic. Might as well pair Kleven with a hamster.

Play the top-4 forty five minutes a night, I think Green has to roll with the rookie pair moving forward. The goalie plays better without Travis Hamster.

Sens are 7 points up on NYI, but may actually get another cushion, as they are 2 points back of NJD with 2 less games played.

Although we wouldn’t pass NJD as they’re in a Metro playoff position, if we stay ahead of them in the standings, the NYI or NYR would potentially catch them, and knock them into WC2. We have a slightly better chance of making the playoffs than them, at 98.6(!!!) now

Steve Staios telling Green to bench Hamonic is like the hockey version of Isaac and Abraham.

We did have a ton of good cycle throughout the game, though. It was balanced at once between cycle and rush. What did Detroit generate at all 5on5 for most of the game?
Not much they didn't really do much even with all the PP time they had. Scores was close only because of some mistakes by our D. My point is our player can produce way more with proper set play in place that suits their skills 5 vs 5.

What a nail bitter the last 10 minutes. I was watching with one eye open as the stress was setting in. To bad they couldn't lock in and smother them. The only thought for me was, they better not do this in an actual playoff game to their are out the first round. Anyway, thank goodness they won.

I'll take it, but bloody hell I hope the team stop letting teams start comebacks. My heart is weak and can't handle that lol
Timing was stressful, but the reality is the other team is going to get chances and they are going to score goals.

I do think there are things we can do better late in games, I feel like we aren't great at defending the rush when we don't forcheck so ideally late in games we need to maintain the forcheck that got us there, but we'll see I guess.

This part isn't directed at you, but the parity in the league means there are no easy games, there are some particularly tough ones, but no team is an automatic win. We held on, there was more good than bad in an important game, that's something to be celebrated. Meanwhile Toronto lost 6-5 to SJ, WSH lost 4-2 to the wild, MTL fighting for their lives lost 6-4 to Phi, EDM lost 6-1 to the Kraken, good teams losing to teams well below them, but we got some people complaining that we'll get swept because we weren't perfect closing out a game against Det.

I am glad we sunk Detroit. I actually MUCH prefer Montreal make it in over them. They obviously aren't done yet but it's going to be extremely difficult for them to pass 4 teams in 10 games. Beyond unlikely imo. Glad we dealt them the fatal blow.

You know what's crazy? These exact games - both the Detroit games recently - are the ones we would have been on the receiving end of in years past.. I hate to jinx it, but with the roster and identity reconstruction, these guys have finally figured it out.

I don’t know if anyone’s mentioned it, but either Brady or Sandy yelling “kill it” when the puck was in corner with about 15-20 seconds left and killing the play was such a good play, that’ll be overlooked. Those 2 killed 10 or 12 seconds and took a beating doing it. Brady then was jacked up at end of game and went to sandy first with a big high five and chest bump.

I don’t want to get swept Personally.

Where was everyone calling me positive when I defended this team for the first 55 games of the season and ESPECIALLY when I hyped them during the first 20 games of the season when we were like .450. This team was playing a certain way.

Yeah. I think we are playing like ass now. But I was positive for a long time this season
The team does need to play consistently better; particularly when they do not have the puck. We do not have the high end offensive talent that top teams have so we need to reduce goals against. Yes we have done some of that, but we need to be even better, OR start scoring more goals.

I dont get how professionals think allowing free access to your net down low is a good idea on the PK
I agree, but I also don't like to see a player in the low slot uncovered for a quick one-timer either. It's impossible on the PK to cover all the threats. I suppose the F must collapse towards the net to cover the opposing F closest to the net in the slot but that gives the D the one-timer.

Best strategy: stay out of the penalty box.
