The Oilers had a winger during their decade of darkness named Ryan Jones.
He had 3 full NHL seasons where he didn't get sent to the AHL at some point, one of those seasons he scored 17 and 18 goals in another.

He's the 12th highest scoring defenseman of all time, and you only remember him for elbows he didn't throw? Had you said he's only remembered for headshots, you'd be on to something but he only took 4 elbowing penalty in 1635 career games.

Yeah, Stevens didn't usually throw elbows, he did headhunt people, but back in the day those were legal hits.

Does anyone remember when Voracek and Lang at their best were leading the league in points for a bit?

Voracek ended up 4th in points, 7 points shy of the Art Ross Trophy.

Lang finished 9th in points, but a PPG of 1.14, 4th best in the league. 2nd best pace that season was 1.16..

he also outproduced Jagr that season, and they were on the same team

Neither player ever finished top 10 in points again. Lang's next best is a 20th point finish, and 15th for Voracek.

Maybe not the place it for but 1979-80 Mike Rogers finished 5th in the league in scoring with 105 points and Blaine Stoughton finished 8th in scoring with 100 points, tied with Charlie Simmer and Danny Gare for the league lead in goals with 56. Hartford Whalers.

Both guys were out of the NHL within 5 years.

i also really liked martin havlat from 06-09 and i felt like if his shoulder wasn't so crap, he would've probably had a top 10 finish in scoring
