Post-Game Talk: Smiling Stu Shutouts x 2!

Yeah the main forum is pathetic.

In pre series thread, people were saying Vegas had better forward depth. I guess the LA series didn’t count.

Its going to be the same thing with Dallas. Oilers depth outplayed Dallas depth last year and our forwards depth (and our defensive depth) are better than last year.

We will see how it goes. Rantanen is a big add for Dallas. I think they have been looked pretty average these playoffs though outside of Rantanen.

I think Edmonton has better forwards and defense than Dallas. I think they will have problems with our physicality too.

They have Oettinger though. But let’s not forget that Skinner outplayed him last year and is trending up.
The Oilers have generally handled Rantenan fairly well. in his last 12 games vs the Oilers he has 3G 5A and is a -4 overall.

Dallas has a great top pair but after that things get dicey for them. Lindell is not a great skater and with him being paired with Ceci I think the Oilers can exploit that pair. I don't know anything about Lian Bichsel but we do know about Petrovic. They give up a lot of shots and don't handle speed all that well. Oettinger will be tested if Dallas wins.

Bouchard is going to get all the money, he's doing this away from Ekholm which is massive in my book. Not super crazy about the eventual $11m+/yr contract but that's the price for a guy that is building an all time great playoff resume and is just entering his prime.
He's a #1 defenseman, pay that man his money

Ive been down on Skinner. Admittedly. But I’ve never gone after his weight. I have to say he doesn’t look overweight at all in this photo.

I don't think anyone that calls him "fatso" is implying he's out of shape, but his listed playing weight is still insane. Goalies aren't normally built like "gym bros". Certainly none of the best ones. That's where the criticism stems from.

That all being said, now is not a time to critique a guy with back to back shutouts. Lord knows, I've been leading the charge of the "He-Man Skinner Haters Club", but if he can play like he played the last two games, for another 8, I'll never speak ill of him again.
