Yes, I'm actually agreed. Because regular season is much of nothng. You want your star players to have an opportunity to produce have some fun, To me its a bit off to play your top players with Arvid or Pods in regular season and If you've been following me I would not even have Arvid on the team period. Keep your stars happy in regular season making some noise.
Its only in playoffs that I default to specific line arrangements like having a shutdown line makes sense. Playofs is about winning it all, the ultimate everything. Regular season is only about punching ticket.
So what you see as double standard isn't necessarily the case. Its just that throug an 82 game slog give the paying fans and TV audience what they want, production, seeing stars shine etc. The season seems like forever. In the playoffs draw up lines through Strategy.
I've had no complaint about the Pods and Kap wingers for Drai in playoffs. Provided people understand Drai offense is being sacrificed to the greater good of the club winning it all.
Podz and Kap played with Drai this year and weren't considered a shutdown line.
Podz was expected yo win Drai pucks and Kap for speed.
However, today the narrative changed?
What am I missing here? Same players, different description
