Post-Game Talk: Smiling Stu Shutouts x 2!

but but but matthews and leafs are better than mcdavid/draisaitl and the oilers

McDavid and Draisaitl quickly figured out that individual accomplishments meant nothing. Then they learned that regular season success means nothing.

Something changed in 2021-22 for this squad. They figured out the special sauce for winning in the playoffs. An elixir that evades many. Now they just need to piece it all together.

The year that I became a diehard Oilers fan. That Game 7 against Dallas is still the wildest roller coaster of emotions I've had as an Oilers fan.

Anyway, Kapanen cementing his legacy in Oiler lore forever. Knob continuing to push the right buttons.
I was defending Kaps play during season and also last game. he can bring good play for periods of time. he tends to fade away after 5 games but usually because he can't score much. But he came through tonight in style. I should call him scoring the winner more often.

What a time to score. What a time to be alive.

Somebody check on Flava Flav.

My lord what a terrible series for Vegas fans. Haha, see their club lose every game. Wouldn't be any happiness without Oilers fans there.

That is the most efficient game I’ve seen Skinner play. Tracked the puck really well. Square to the puck all night. And hardly a rebound.

The Kapanen OT goal gave me Klima vibes. Different situation. But having a guy healthy scratched for 9 out of 11 games go out there and and the series was good vibes.

This team is legit. Glad we get at least a bit of a break for guys to rest up some bumps and bruises.

Crusty Connor in that interview. Now that's pissy. Can't say I totally understand why though.
He’s tired of the idea that the Oilers don’t play defence. He and Leon both made a conscious effort to become better defensively this season and last. Breakdowns happen to even the strongest “defensive teams” suffer them. It’s the same question every time the Oilers play that style. I get it.

Yeah, haha I was thinking of Petr Klima earlier tonight too. Kinda odd. Also had a feeling Kapanen would score tonight. Didn't think it would be an OT 1-0 game though, lmao.
