Should, realistically, probably not. Not many teams who are torn down to the studs are competitive in less than 5 years.

I don’t expect them to be competitive for say a WC spot next year, but we need to see improved performance at least via the eye test. This is year 4 of basically being terrible. Plenty of picks have been accumulated the last few years and more to come.

How I see it going
24-25 = Bottom 5
25-26 = Bottom 7-10 - Some prospects take a leap, but still need seasoning
26-27 = Bottom 12 - Couple more prospects take a leap, 1 or 2 take a big leap
27-28 = Bottom 15 - Have the core figured out, last year of Jones shit contract/sign big UFAs to fill out the team
28-29 = Playoff team, learning how to win in the playoffs
29-30 = Legit contender

5 more years of being bad? Management has been cleaned out from Davidson to the scouts. We have a ton of cap and a ton of assets. Five more years of being terrible when we have a piece like Bedard and now Vlasic locked up on a sweetheart deal is comical

What are we Arizona? Last I checked we spend to the cap and don’t lack resources.

Hawks have 10 first round picks in a 4 year span. Tons of cap.

Hawks probably have two more years of non playoffs. This year and next. After that if Davidson doesn’t make the playoffs in year 5 he’s shit canned

Are you just assuming that we never use our assets? We have too many prospects/picks and not enough roster spots. We will package multiple of these picks or prospects for a star player in the next year or so. He already took a swing at Guentzel
