What the hell happened to Dickinson's game?
Dallas is rested and a far better team but WTF is with the passive play especially on the boards? Hawks are 29 percent at the dot. That certainly hasn't helped the cause.

Dickinson’s drop off is very odd. He was one of my favorites players for us last year.

Whatever the case may be moving forward....Bedard needs to start showing improvements. I'm thinking he will...because i believe in his talent and his drive to be better, and i see that he's clearly frustrated. He knows he's playing poorly. But all these excuses about the coaching, the lack of talent around him....look at it like this: He had to deal with all those same things last season(if anything he had even less help around him than he does now)....and for the first half of the season or at least up til his injury he was NOTICEABLY better than he is now. He was almost always our best forward by a mile. So....what happened? Why has he regressed? I think it will change soon, and he'll start playing better. If not....then by seasons end it will be time to admit that either we're failing him and hurting his development, or he's just not quite as great as we had all hoped he would be.

I feel like I’ve read he was a slow starter in juniors but I’m not going to claim to have followed him enough at that level to confirm.

Well he was a fast starter last season/his rookie year...and a slow finisher. So that doesn't add up either. He ended last season not playing as well as he did to start it....and he's seemingly gotten even worse to start here in 2024/25. Yes its early. Lots of time left....but it does suck to see considering we did upgrade the help around him, he's got another year of growth/development, a year wiser, etc....and yet all we've seen is a decline. Continued from the steady decline we saw after he returned from injury last season. All we can do is hope it changes ASAP, and continue to have confidence that it will based on his talent and reputation. He does look like he's mad and should drive himself to improve.

I don't like the guy, but I do think Bedard needs a little John Tortorella. Tortorella benched Michkov tonight, saying "it will help him." And frankly, it will. Martin St. Louis credits Tortorella with properly motivating him. Eh, if and when JT gets fired from Philly, give a good look Kyle.
