Germans are playing the Slovaks pretty well

Your boy got a nice little fluky deflection goal, but he deserved it he’s been buzzing out there.

Man German hockey is on the rise. Draisaitl, Stutzle, Seider, Peterka, Riechel, Kahun. They got some guys with some serious skill coming up. No reason they shouldn’t consistently be fighting with the Slovaks and Swiss for a top 8 position in both junior and senior level.

Hard to watch this as the Germans are so gassed halfway through their shift that the momentum switches to Slovakia once they are tired and the Germans get burned.

Oh no that looks serious for Knazko.

Didn’t like the way his knee bent. Hate to speculate but looked like ACL, maybe it’s not as bad as that looked.

Hmm you think so?
Quite honestly I think the German team plays a brand of hockey no mens league coach would be happy with, Stützle and Peterka included. Extremely high event hockey is more junior hockey than pro style of hockey in my book.

The Slovaks game vs Canada or Czechs game vs Russia that is what I'd call pro style hockey, disciplined, structured.

I think he's talking about their passes to open ice. Jr. players tend to pass to players, while Tim and JJ both pass to the middle of nowhere more if they think their teammate will get there first.

In general I agree with you, Germany as a team obviously doesn't play a mens league brand of hockey. I would also agree that Stützle and Peterka take more risks in this tournament than they usually do in the DEL, but I guess thats only natural as they have to pretty much carry that team. However I feel like there are a lot of instances where they just do little things differently. Obviously thats not just Stützle and Peterka but pretty much most of the guys who have had meaningful playing time in a mens league. You could say that in a way I feel like they have better habbits already, if that makes any sense.

Holy shit that speed

Edit: Happy for folks like @GermanNuck who are watching in the middle of the night that it’s a close back & forth match.
