I’ll try to get another 2-3 hours of sleep. Gentlemen, it has been a pleasure. See you against Switzerland!
Pleasant dreams.

Right now we’re stacking up offense. Haakon Hänelt might be a good D but there’s not much after that. Strategy must be to outscore every opponent and win 10-9![]()
Florian Elias been the best German player at these WJC perhaps?
2021 draft eligible Elias been great.
Pleasant surprise.
If you asked me circa 5 years ago which country - Germany or Switzerland - would make a push to join the 2nd/3rd tier of hockey nations, I would have said Switzerland. I wonder why Switzerland seems to have taken a few steps back while Germany has surged forward.
I mean its not like Germany has distanced itself from hockey nations like Slovakia or Switzerland. They had an unusualy good genration in the early 2000 birthyears so far and are now reaping the benefits. But thats seems to be over now as the dont have any projected first rounders in the next two drafts and not many legit prospects in general in that timeframe. Slovakia on the other hand seems to be set to have a very good draft in 2022 while Switzerland had an excellent Generation with players born in the mid to late ninties. The only programms that will churn out top prospects at a constant level are the top five nations and to a lesser extent the Czech Republic and thats not gonna change in the forseeable future.
What about Julian Lutz? Moreover, I am impressed about the amount of 2003/2004 born players, who are getting a chance in the DEL or DEL2 so far. Of course, they won`t be top prospects, but guys like Moritz Elias, Bennet Roßmy, Leo Hafenrichter, Haakon Hänelt, Kevin Niedenz, Adrian Klein, Yannick Proske, etc. could form a great U-18 team this year.
3rd best forward yes.
I agree that he has played well, but he is a tier behind the top 2.

I havent seen any of this players and am basing my statment on the assesment of Thomas Roost who is an NHL Scout for Central Europe and seems to know every notable German prospect. According to him there is no one (including Lutz) with first round potential for the next few drafts.

What game are you watching? Set up tying and winning goals with great playmaker ability. Also take in fact he played almost 30 min as a forward!!! Very impressed by his game and when he gets more talented players around him in future will be an impressive player. My opinion of courseSorry JJ Peterka playing not good in this Tournament. Sorry what does he show, he can use his Body, can shoot the puck. But looseing the Puck to often in the o Zone.
He has 0 playmaking skill, he has no one timer, everytime he shoot the puck it is a wristshot. But those Splittsecond of Preparation brings the shoblocker in position and the Goalie.
For a Player that was rumoured pick in 1st round or early 2nd Round, his complete Game is bad.
I understand now why some scouts placed him lower, his height and weight maybe was an advantage. But his preformane on the TopLine is unimpressive.
So i hope i the some development from him in this Tournament or after the Tournament. But he has room to fill in his development.
As of now Lutz is definitely a first round candidate. In general the german 2004 age group could be a good one again. Kechter, Elias, Hafenrichter and Hauf are all prospects who you should keep an eye on. G Wolf is really talented too.I havent seen any of this players and am basing my statment on the assesment of Thomas Roost who is an NHL Scout for Central Europe and seems to know every notable German prospect. Hänelt is not a defenseman.
Defenseman David Mudrak was named Slovakia's top player but I didn't really watch him that closely as I was mostly focused on Germany.
Any thoughts about his play and his game overall?
