1 thing we saw this game (that we already knew) that kind of reinforces this point is that Henqriqe needs to play with smart players.

He's a very good IQ player with a great shot, but he can't skate worth a damn.

To utilize Henrique properly he needs to play with someone who can make a pass. This can't be Evander Kane when he gets back. So where does Kane go?

They're probably the top team in the league. Annoying for sure. Just gotta keep pushing.
They also are in a butter-soft stretch in their schedule right now, and overall their schedule is one of the easier in the league the rest of the way so they'll be hard to catch for sure.

Vancouver has the toughest schedule in the league in front of them.

I know it’s not true but I feel like every night I look, that the Knights are playing the sharks…

What the. Stu is over 0.900 now overall on the season!

We are taking the division this year :)

I actually wonder if Henrique and RNH should be switched.

Henrique might produce better with McDavid.

RNH doesn’t produce much 5 on 5 anyway. Although I think its a problem when PP1 players are on 1/2/3 lines.

Also they better sign Emberson soon.
What's up with that btw? Didn't pretty much all insiders say that this was going to be done shortly after the New Year? No rush needed on it but it would be nice to have him locked up for a few years at a cheap rate.

Kulak at $2.75m might be in the top 10 non ELC value contracts around the league this year. Guy has been unbelievable.
He's performing like a $5M Dman, legit top 4 guy this year. He's always been good but this is the best hockey of his career, and there was a group of people who wanted to trade him which I never understood.

Ok ok we get our Skinner finally had a great game. Can we move on.

Pretty sad when your #1 goalie plays like an actual #1 and half the posters are having an orgasm over it.
Pretty sad that when our #1 goalie actually plays like a #1 goalie and half the posters keep saying he sucks and can't make saves too.

Henrique had the one game against LA where he did look slow (too much Xmas turkey?), but, overall, the data does not support this statement. He is average or above average in his NHL Edge skating metrics.

Well, it beats the Skinner skeptics having an orgasm when he has a bad game.

BTW, here's his goals against since November 23rd per game and the Oilers have the top save percentage in the entire league in this timeframe btw

2s and 1s being the dominant numbers.

Now, I've seen a lot of Skinner sucks posts in that time period despite the actual numbers painting a different story. It's not like this was his 1st good game of the year, just about every one has been good in the last month and a half so I think the reason why some folks are "orgasming" over his game last night is because they've been having to hear incessantly for a long time now about how much he sucks so it's a counter to all of that.

With that said, Skinner does have his inconsistencies (as just about every NHL goalie has in this now higher scoring league), he has athletic flaws and the team in front of him does help to limit chances but he's been a good goalie the past 2 seasons and has been a good goalie the last month and a half, one of the best in the league in that timeframe for that matter, so it should be acknowledged as much as it should be acknowledged when he sucks.

Stu played very well.

Props where props are deserved.

I hope he can continue growing towards solid consistency (not meant as a backhand compliment. For the teams sake I hope he really does).

Skinner was great last night, no question. The C word is the big thing though. A Plan B is still required until he proves he doesn't need the training wheels.

Henrique is lethal in the box. He has that quick release snap shot that lasers to the shelf, and he can elevate that puck in tight too. Kind of reminds me of Monahan that way.

If he plays with two guys that can grind pucks out for him and actually be able to find him with a net front pass he’s going to start to score goals.

It’s all perception. He’s 11-3-1 in his last 15 games with a .920

Imagine he started the season with a stretch like that? People would be singing a different. Everyone made up their minds in the first month.

Vancouver has the toughest schedule in the league in front of them.

VAN could fall right out of it (lets hope so after their arrogance last year). They just played like 7 or 8/10 of their games against bottom teams.

Van now plays 9/10 against top 9 teams

Vancouver's possession metrics are Chicago level bad when Quinn Hughes isn't on the ice. If he doesn't return to action very fast the Canucks aren't making the playoffs.

Of course, if they miss it probably means Calgary makes it so I'm not sure that's even a win.
