Prospect thread has been Hab fans. Some fool posted his youtube video questioning MM's hockey sense at the start of the year. He long disappeared (LOL). Almost as bad as McCagg's MM as Habs 3rd line RW.

Calder thread is heating up with Celebrini showing he is the real deal, but just by sheer volume, there are more Habs loonies out and about

Glad that almighty torts deemed it ok.

What is with the Cult of Personality surrounding Tortorella and seeking his approval/validation ranging from anything and everything to something and nothing?

I wonder though, what if Tortorella didn't like Michkov signing a waterbottle? I assume the Cult would be overly supportive of anything this egomaniac babbled, so why am I even asking?

Stop giving this man a platform. He's just a guy. Not to be idolized.

Here's a bit of a Montreal perspective on Michkov, from a long-time sports columnist in the English (obv) paper: https://www.montrealgazette.com/sports/article561553.html.

It only took him two sentences to be disingenuous.

It’s Matvei Michkov’s birthday Monday. He’s 20, the same age as Lane Hutson. And he is tearing up the National Hockey League in a fashion most everyone predicted, but ahead of schedule.

Yes, they are both 20, but drafted in different years, and Hutson is 10 months older than Matvei.

Sadly, the article got worse as it went along.

Perhaps we all need a reminder that the goal here is to win a Stanley Cup and that big, mobile defencemen have featured prominently on most Cup winners over the past decade whereas Mitch Marner, whose size and skills are comparable to Michkov’s, tends to vanish come playoff time.

Sounds like a lot of sour grapes and self-soothing.

That guy was so f***ing annoying. Not surprised to see he had no backbone either and can’t admit when he was wrong.

Can someone w higher hockey IQ than me explain whether there's any universe in which limiting MM minutes so massively somehow makes sense?

Since Torts whined publicly about MM's michegan, he is -11 with no points. You know he is doing what this franchise always does, have a player focus on shoring up their d zone at the expense of their offense. They can't help themselves

not one person here could have predicted that Torts would strip MM of what makes him special.

not one person...

And? The top 3 rookies this season are all exceptional players but I expect Celebrini to end up as the best of them when their careers are done, with Michkov and Hutson not far behind.
