What do people think about the Flyers moving him to LW?

I thought he was going to be a playmaking lefty RW, kind of like Jagr.
If there is a way for the Flyers to mess up the development and use of a player, one can count on Tortorella to do it. We all know that he is a genius /s. There's no way that he wants to go into next season on the last year of his contract without an extension. One of the main themes of this season will be what Tortorella is trying to do so that he can to secure his future with the organization. It could cause some serious damage.

They have less depth on LW and I think he can thrive there so i'm good with it.

The STG interview with Briere, Jones, and Hilfery threw some cold water on the Michkov center experiment for now:

- Bundy asked if Michkov would be a center for the Flyers

- Briere said it's a good question, they haven't really thought about it nor are they looking to make a change. Nowadays wingers are the ones creating the offense while centers support down low. It will be easier to unlock a player offensively starting out on the wing.

- Jones expresses excitement by noting that Michkov can play either wing

The best part of the interview was Bundy saying that Hextall told him not to hype up Gostisbehere when he had that point streak as a rookie.

What is it with these guys? Like they need to be the fun police for the fans. Don't you want your fanbase excited?
This is the Flyers. The hard working team where no player shall ever be bigger than the team. Oh, you invited 20 family members to the game you were expected to start in your home town? Guess what, you're benched. You will serve this team from the press box.

I think it’s just that some people believe public pressure will change how a player develops and reacts to that pressure.

There’s probably some truth for some players and none for others and somewhere in the middle for another swath of players.

I think this is the thing that has bothered me about Torts. It's the gaslighting saying he didn't know Sanheim was from Calgary (at least junior team-wise), or that scratching Frost in Toronto or Brink in Boston wasn't linked to it being their hometown.

It's all just too coincidental, and when it happens to three players, yeah, it feels disingenuous.

I think this team is run by people who try to be the smartest in the room. You have a rookie who has broken all kinds of records on the right wing, and you put on him on left wing his very first game.

By the time the game starts tonight he will be playing the Rover position...

So, do we think he'll return vs SJS? Benching him for 3 games would be nuts, plus Sharks are one of the very few teams below us in the standings.

I agree, these are some sort of power-games from Flyers higher-ups, wouldn't be too surprised if it wasn't all Torts, but higher people behind this.

You can clearly see he's lacking confidence in his shooting and he’s been in the pass first mentality. I guess he’s not there yet to feel confident enough as he’s a rookie

I am sure benching the guy for 2 games does wonders for his confidence. Coming from superamateur floorball player, benching for one game 100% can be seen as ''you did not do well, sit and learn/watch'', but two games, unless it's effin SCF or Game6/7 - that's a message.
