Think it’s fair to say, Utah let the entire league know what they thought of Liljegren last night, by sending a similar return for a pending LHD in Maatta, instead of Liljegren.
To be fair, he’s a gifted player. I’ve been hard on him for much of his time with the Leafs but he took a pretty big step the last two years. Just to fall off again the last 40 games or so. There is something there though. Unfortunately we just don’t see it enough, and his bad habits keep showing.
He’s gonna get every chance in the world now.
As for the Sharks? They need NHL Dmen just to be placeholders for a couple years. They do need to be careful though, if they’re gonna start moving young Dmen up. They have 3-4 Dmen now, who have some of the worst habits, and you don’t want those dmen mentoring your kids.
