They outshot the canucks 12-6 5v5 with him on the ice.

They got outshot 9-18 with him on the bench.

Seems like a questionable call.

Coughed the puck up directly into the slot after being hounded by Conor Garland on the forecheck on the first Pius Suter goal. Left Suter completely alone at the top of the circle with 25 seconds left in the 3rd to lose the game. Shot attempts don't tell the story of the chances he singlehandedly gave up.

Goalie needs to make a save and your forwards need to bury the puck.

Walman wins his minutes. Every other dman on the sharks gets their asses kicked in their minutes

Hodge is personally invested in Walman being a failure after criticizing the acquisition all summer, he's been the Sharks best D man by far for the first 10% of the season, this is just one petty poster's quest to always be right
I didn't realize I made lineup decisions for the Sharks. Time to call up Scott Sabourin.

What a nonsense non-sequitor

I meant the thread bump of course, you're being obtuse, nothing new there
Since others bumped this thread for Walman picking up assists, it only seems fair to bump the thread for Walman being a healthy scratch on the 32nd place team in the National Hockey League.

I hope he's been healthy scratched for the purposes of being traded. I think that would be the most hilarious discourse

I don't think he actually likes anybody on the team except for maybe goodrow

All of a sudden people don’t want this thread bumped anymore lol
Walman is winning his 5v5 minutes on the sharks lmao, both in terms of expected goals and actual goals, the sharks are OUTPRODUCING Their opponents with walman on the ice.

For context, not a single detroit dman is above 50%

Also has helped the Sharks PK to an impressive 81.5%.

This is gonna be Steve Y's last year in Detroit.
Until you start hearing he is in trouble from somebody around the team this is really pointless. This year looks like a step back but for the record the Red Wings have improved every year under Yzerman while making progress off the ice as well. Next year is where pressure begins to mount but he has been honest about the process the whole way through.

I don’t believe he has lost any of his support from Ownership. Lalonde is the fall guy this year.

You conveniently skipped the part on the GWG where Goodrow failed to clear the puck which would have sent the game to OT. We know why though.

I mean ultimately it was a kind of "whatever" deal for DRW in the long-run, although whatever you think about Walman's sometimes erratic play, it certainly did not feel like enough of a return at the time.

It's hard to believe that the team's de facto #1 LHD who is averaging 23 minutes a night with 9 points and a +2 in 12 games for one of the worst rosters around is being scratched for a gaffe (albeit big one) in one game. I mean the HC says his banged up shoulder is playing no part in this decision. This seems a little like a young, inexperienced HC trying to be a hard@$$ but Sharks fans would know best.

not being a sharks fan and having watched Walman in particular a heap this season, you may as well just eat your crow instead of trying far reaching “I told you so” posts

Because even with this (odd) benching Walman has far exceeded his contract, the trade value, and general expectations this season so far.

He’s seriously healthy scratched tonight?

That’s hysterical considering this thread. Up’s the drama x2.

I think he’s a talented guy that isn’t strong defensively. I think Yzerman made the best trade on the table and did it because he felt he had youth coming he wanted to make room for. SJ needed some vets to make the team a little better for both the fans and their new stud. Everyone got what they thought they wanted/needed and I doubt either side regretted the trade till maybe SJ today. If he’s healthy scratched because of play I don’t think anyone can clown Yzerman about this trade at all. I hope he gets back in and continues to help SJ at least offensively.
