Like it. San Jose will have some competition and quality vets to insulate the young centers. In addition, should we move Stum and Granlund at the deadline, we'll still have some quality vets for them to play with.

Eklund-Granlund-Zetterlund
Koistin/Goodrow-Celebrini-Tofolli
Koistin/Couture-Wenberg-Smith
Goodrow/Grundstrom-Sturm-Dellandrea
Kunin

Several guys who could stand to be bumped down a line, but not bumped down. Hertl, Duclair, Hoffman, Barby, Zadina, Labanc, Bordeleau out. Celebrini, Smith, Dellandrea, Tofolli, Wennberg, Goodrow, Koistin, Grundstrom in. With the possibility of Hertl to Celebrini (for this year only), San Jose had upgraded every 7/13 forward positions with their 8 additions. Maybe I shouldn't count Koistin since he was added last year, but a massive improvement.

Defense is still horrifying (albeit better) and goaltending poor, but the forwards are worlds better (moving from terrible to poor! Next stop mediocre, but we're a few years of growth- and a Hagens/Martone- from very good)!

Unfortunately, I do think this signals minimal games for Couture. Hope that guy can get healthy!

They can flip the vets at the deadline for picks and even retain salary to get more picks the next two years. Solid move for full rebuild
