SJS 4 : LAK 3 - No surprises

Good game. Kings fought hard and were in it to the end. Lots of depths guys stepping up and playing well. Sharks earned the win.
 
Would like to see McBain in for Scuderi or Schenn, help move puck and help against Shark's speed since he's not painfully slow like them.

I really want to see Lucic back with Carter and drop brown for game 2, we'll see though. Lots of games left.
 
Kings deserved the loss. I hate how the refs call it tight for the first two periods and then decide to swallow their whistles in third. Call it one way or the other, dont change just based on the time of the game.

Yeah, that was pretty embarrassing. Now Marty is hurt and Drew sure looks like he's playing hurt. Defense is an absolute disaster.

Didn't help that Kopi, Carter, and Toffoli played like they couldn't care less.

Just pure **** all around, 4th line looked like the only ones who had any urgency or effort.
 
Can't afford for Martinez to be hurt
Can't ice Scuderi/Schenn together
Can't be that slow transitioning out of our own end
Can't have our stars that badly outplayed by their stars

Just hope Martinez is okay, and that should be some smelling salts for Game 2.

Not gonna win this series if we can't get the puck out of our end. Having only Doughty, Muzzin, then McNabb/Schenn/Scuderi available was ugly and it looked like it.

Schenn will get us eliminated. I may only have to say that a few more times.

Would love to see Gravel, will likely see McBain, either way that's a downgrade on Martinez, one that we really can't afford...why can't the SAH guys get hurt :laugh:

Oh, and that's my other beef...traditionally stay at home guys are good at defense and penalty killing. Schenn isn't a stay at home d-man, he's just a terrible d-man.
 
Outscored 14-7 at home by the Sharks this year. Pavelski has 5 goals, and 8 points, in 3 games in LA. He's just killing them.

Don't want to go down 0-2 again, this time going to SJ for Game 3. If there's ever a time for a focused and desperate Kings team, hopefully it'll be for Game 2. Whatever Kopitar and Carter were doing on those defensive zone faceoffs needs to change. It cost the Kings 2 goals, which was the difference in winning or losing. If the defense is going to be an issue, all the other aspects of the team need to be that much better, which they weren't tonight.

I was getting **** from Kings fans for suggesting that Thornton-Pavelski-Hertl was going to be trouble.

It reminds me of when Chicago loaded up Toews and Hossa vs. Kopitar and he did essentially nothing but black hole each other all series. Problem here is they lost that matchup badly tonight. And that and our defense was the biggest difference in the game.

Otherwise? Our depth is fine. If CLifford could have buried that pass, he'd have been a hero...
 
It's unreal how this team quickly blew both leads that they had in this game. Complete lack of focus and concentration by this team.

Sharks top players outclassed the Kings top players, which is exactly what happened during the regular season, and to no surprise, the biggest concern out of Game 1 was the porous defense led by Luke Schenn. Doughty had an awful game as well save for his two pad stack to prevent a goal. The PK gave up two goals and continues to hinder the team because we all know the Kings can't stay out of the box.

Sharks also made the Kings look silly in end zone draws. Let's see if these dumbasses learn anything from this game.
 
Just win the next game and go beat em in Jose. Sharks are not that good at home. Just don't lose game 2 it's over it that's the case.
 
Well we know the Sharks start fast. We'll see if the Kings can worm their way into the series and eventually take control.
