Not blaming Freddie on that one…looked like the same hang the goalie out to dry shit the old Canes used to give up on Wardo…
Ehhh... We limit so many shots against that we genuinely make life easy for goalies in our nets. They need to return the favor by bailing us out in the offhand chance our defense does screw up.

That was an awful goal against for Fred.

And now glitterdouche is on the tv at intermission. Blah

1 goal in our last 100 min of hockey, 60 of that against an AHL backup goalie & the bottom dwelling Phlyers...and FWIW Quick is actually worse than Sandstrom with an .878 (70th out of 74 goalies > 10GP)

I don’t think goaltending works that way… it’s not an RPG or something where they’ve saved their “energy points” and can use them all up at once on a big save since they haven’t had to use them throughout the game lol. It’s great that we limit shots throughout the game but when we give up a breakaway from the dots in because your dman whiffs twice on a fairly simple play… it’s not like you somehow have a better chance to save it because you haven’t seen the puck much.

If you can't be relied upon to make a save you're not a starting goalie in the NHL

I do rely on Freddie to make that save. He needs to be better than that

It's curious that you consider any criticism of Freddie as trolling.

The comment “if you can’t rely on a goaltender to make a save you’re not an NHL goaltender” in response to saying “not every goalie is going to make every single big save” is ridiculous. Vasilevsky gives up over 2 goals per game. Your comment - “the D really needed Vasilevsky to bail them out there” - could be applied to any single goal he gives up.

The 2nd goal was not a soft one in the slightest. It was a high, high danger one because his dman completely shit the bed. Your argument for criticizing him, that he has to make a save because his dman screwed up and gave up a high danger chance, is bad. The two alternatives to that line of reasoning are “no goal is acceptable to give up” (which, combined with your “not a starting goalie” comment would mean you think there are no actual starting goalies in the NHL), or “goals are only acceptable when your defense doesn’t screw up”, AKA soft goals, which you’d also (rightly) criticize.

I assumed you were trolling because the comment reads like a troll post. But I should know better than to engage with you in GDTs. You become a different, much less rational poster lol.
