Sincerely Compliment A Player You Genuinely Dislike...

Sam Bennett is the perfect hard to play against 2nd line center to compliment the stars. Always rises to the occasion in the playoffs. Tkachuk and Huberdeau having career years next to him isn't a coincidence

Anton Lundell is a fantastic 3rd line center. One of the best in the league. Great defensively, has scored some clutch goals, swallows up the opposition that isn't put up against Barkov.

Jordan Binnington has always, for the most part, been a pretty good goalie who has had his best moments at the most important times. A lot of people laughed at the contract he signed but he's been mostly pretty consistent for the Blues since besides the one year Husso popped off. Despite letting in some softies early on in 2019, he came up huge in games 5 and 7.

Nazem Kadri has aged gracefully. Finally got his head removed from his pooper and had a fantastic playoff run for the Avs. Took the bag from Calgary and could've mailed it in, but has actually been a very serviceable #1 center for them

David Perron, despite being a bit of a journeyman through his NHL career has had a very good career with some very clutch moments. Clearly able to adapt well and hit the ground running despite being on a new team so often. Will likely get 800 career points next season if he stays healthy.

Auston Matthews is a poor leader but a shark at what he does - get money and plan to get more. He has invented this 3-4 year type deal that some players take, to just re-up at higher deal when it's over.

I can easily understand every other player, but why this guy? He is a pretty quiet young dude.

Also not just about me being Finnish. I'm genuinely surprised why him. He must've said something I don't think I've heard.

Sam Bennett. I hated him when the Panthers played the Bruins. But would take him in a heart beat. IMO, he is the heart and soul of the Panthers. As a neutral (while I hope an Oilers win), Sam Bennett is currently the best 2025 PO performer follows by my Boy Bradely Marchand

I hate Marner for being a greedy fraud who claimed to want nothing more than to play for the Leafs. But he gobbled every possible dollar while contributing Jack in the playoffs. I never want to see him in a Leafs jersey ever again.

Now that we've established that, Marner is a supremely talented forward, a leader, and quite likely a hall of famer.

Marchand is a hell of a hockey player. I don’t why, but I find him more likable now that he isn’t on the Bruins.

Binnington is an underrated goalie. He has his moments where he plays all world and has
come up clutch in some big moments such as game 7 SCF 2019, and the 4 nations final. Excuse me while I go throw up now.

Everyone hates on Marchand....and so did I for a variety of reason....but as it turns out, he's my doppelganger and I've dated girls solely because they thought he was hot....so....i guess he's a sexy man.

I actually find Brad Marchand to be cute in a strange kind of way, believe it or not. That is apparently not a very popular opinion. Granted, I don't interact with other female hockey fans with any sort of regularity, so when I express that opinion of mine, the reaction I get is almost always coming from men asking me "what the hell is wrong with you? He's ugly."

Well you can tell your male friends that they are very clearly wrong. Both Marchand and I are living proof of that. He's just...wildly richer than I am.

I thought this was the most bizarre story since Kris Letang Christmas but apparently they're not alone.

Complimenting dirtbags you dislike is pretty easy I think, like the Tkachuks and Bennets and Marchands (not that I dislike him) are so obviously good players that you can't really ignore it. Even Matt Cooke had a solid run of being a quality contributor. The harder part would probably be getting fans to compliment the overpaid bum section of their roster since many feel like those guys got the bag and stopped trying.

I was talking a while back with my boss and he was trying to make a distinction between jealousy and envy. I think he may have been trying to say that envy is wanting something someone else has while jealousy is merely wishing another person didn't have something (even if you don't particularly want it yourself).

I talked about how I think one of the worst things people do is deciding that someone they dislike for whatever reason doesn't deserve something and then trying to justify the stance when the reason isn't really related to whether or not they're deserving of the thing you don't want them to have but is based on petty personal feelings. I'm a proponent of meritocracy. For me, the world is better when the most deserving are able to attain the things they deserve, whether they're jerks or not and whether they rub their success in your face or not. I feel that a truly strong person is one who doesn't let the success of his rivals or people he dislikes or he feels look down on him consume him. He doesn't have to like them or their success, but rather than conniving and plotting to try to ruin someone else's promotion or victory or lying to himself and others and saying that it's undeserved, he pushes himself to work harder and seeks to improves his capabilities so he can surpass his rival or enemy.

When it comes to hockey and other sports, I think you don't need a good reason to dislike a player or team. It is a game that's meant for entertainment. You can like or dislike whomever you want. But it can nonetheless be obnoxious and off-putting when fans hate a player or team to such an extent that they are incapable of being honest and objective about said player or team and always have to say something negative.

When it comes to Brad Marchand, I can't stand him. I have made that clear numerous times. I have neither forgotten nor forgiven some of his antics over the years. Sure, he hasn't done anything seriously harmful to me, but again, it's hockey and he is certainly not one of my "boys."

However, I do have to admit that he has been outstanding in this year's playoffs, especially in the Stanley Cup Final. He's looking like one of the best trade deadline acquisitions ever and is a leading Conn Smythe candidate. I have no idea how a 37 year old is pulling off some of the shit he's doing in this year's Final. He's looked like a prime friggen Jagr at times. He's been so good that I feel I have to give him acknowledgement and credit, and it means more coming from a true anti-fan.

That said, I would still love to see him fail once again to win a Stanley Cup. It would make me smile seeing his dream go up in smoke again and seeing him crying like a little bitch. But if he manages to win the Cup and/or Conn Smythe, I have to tip my hat.
haha, thats hate man!
